The hero is Enkidu because he is the equal to Gilgamesh and shows
equal power. The wise fool is the prostitute because you would get the
idea that she wouldn't be very wise but in the end she is the one who
can calm down Enkidu and makes him more of a man. The Devil figure is
Hambama because he is Gilgamesh's enemy and rules the forest. The
outcast is Humbama because he is the ruler of the forest and is later
killed by Gilgamesh and Enkidu. The double is Gilgamesh because he
used to be a bad king and nobody liked him but now he has turned good.
The scapegoat is Enkidu because he is killed by a sacraficed. The
temptress is the shamhat because she tempts Enkidu with sexual
relations and frees him from the wild. The good mother is Aruru
because she created Enkidu and made him equal to Gilgamesh.

I think the hero is Enkidu because he shows courage and he creates
Gilgamesh. The wise fool is the prostitute, she is a prostitute so you
would think she is not very wise but in the end she seems to tame
Enkidu and make him more like a man than an animal. The devil figure
is Hambuba because he is Gilgimesh's enemy and he rules the forest and
is later killed by Gilgamesh and Enkidu. The outcast in the story is
Humbaba because he is alienated by Gilgamesh and is later killed by
him and Enkidu. The double is would be Gilgamesh because he was a bad
king and now he is a good one. The scape-goat is Enkidu because he is
sacrificed and killed instead of Gilgamesh so that Gilgamesh can live.
The temptress is the prostitute because she is beautiful and
seductive. The good mother is Aruru because she created Enkidu.

Hero: Enkidu. He is created to match Gilgamesh's strength. The
townspeople praise him because they're scared of Gilgamesh.

Antihero: Gilgamesh. Although he is strong and beautiful, he posses
antihero qualities. He sacrifices warriors whenever he feels like it
and rapes nobles' wives, sometimes on their wedding nights.

The Wise Fool: Utnapishtim. He was one of the few that survived when
the world was destroyed and came to its end. He can live forever.

The Devil Figure: Enlil. He wants to destroy humankind.

The Outcast: I wasn't sure.

The Double: Gilgamesh. He is perceived as strong and beautiful and is
2/3 god and 1/3 mortal. Although he is strong and has a lot of power,
the townspeople find themselves to be afraid of him and he has bad
morals.

THe Scapegoat: Enkidu. He is created to match Gilgamesh in his power
and strength, but no one really knows what to expect from him.

The Temptress: Shamhat. She uses her sexuality to tame Enkidu. Mainly,
her power comes from her sexuality and civilization.

The Good Mother: Ishtar. She is the god of love and fertility. She
sometimes acts as a nurturing mother but other times is spiteful and
cold.

I believe the hero in this story is Enkidu is because he tames
gilgamesh from his evil ways. The wise fool in this story would be the
prostitute because she seems unwise in the beginning but her reasoning
in the end was good. She tamed Enkidu and made him more man like. The
devil figure would be devil figure would be hambaba because he is seen
in this story as gilgamesh's enemy. They fight in the story and
hambaba is killed. He rules the cedar forest. The outcast in this
story would be Humbaba because he resides in the forest and no one
likes him. Therefore, he is the outcast. The double would be gilgamesh
because he was a bad king before when he was doing all those bad
things and then he met his equal, which was enkidu. The Scapegoat in
this story would be enkidu because he died to help out gilgamesh. He
also helped gilgamesh realize that death is inevitable. The temptress
would be the prostitute because she is beautiful and seductive and she
turns enkidu into more of a man than an animal. The good mother would
be aruru because she is the goddess of creation and created Enkidu out
of clay. She made enkidu very powerful.

I think that the hero in the book is Enkidu because because he comes
and changes Gilgamesh and changes him and helps him do good. I think
that the Wise fool is the prostitute because she is supposed to just
be a prostitute but she teaches Enkidu about life and how everything
works. I think that Humbaba is the devil figure because he is the bad
ruler of the forest and doesn't like anyone. i think that the outcast
is Humbaba is the outcast because he is living in the forest by
himself and killing everuone. Gilgamesh is the double in the story
because he was bad but then he turns good. The scapegoat is Enkidu
because he is killed to help Gilgamesh. the good mother is Aruru
because she creates Both Enkidu and Gilgamesh and they are both
godlike. I think that the Temptress is the Harlot because she is very
seductive and beautiful.

I think that the hero in The Epic of Gilgamesh is Enkidu because he
challenges Gilgamesh and helps him think and do good. The wise fool is
the prostittue because she helps Enkidu understand things about life
instead of being a prostitute she was a teacher also. The devil figure
in the book is the humbaba guy becuase he is the ruler of the forest
and he is evil and dislikes anyone who tries to enter. Hambaba is also
the outcast because he lives in the forest all alone and doesn't have
anyone around, he also just kills everyone. The double is Gilgamesh
becuase he, at first, is bad and then once Enkidu comes along he is
good. The scapegoat in the book is Enkidu because he is killed becuase
he wanted to help gilgamesh and he had to die for that to happen. The
temptress is the harlot because she is suductive and becautiful. The
good mother is Aruru because she is the goddess of creation, she
created Enkidu.

Hero - Gilgamesh, he is the king of Uruk and the strongest of men
goes on quest.

sleeping with Endiku she domesticated him.

Forest and Gilgamesh fights him to enter the forest.

and then after sleeping with Shamhat he is outcasted by the animals.
Double - Gilgamesh because he was really mean at first then he started
acting good.
Scapegoat - Endiku because he was killed as a sacrifice.
Temptress - Shamhat because she seduced Endiku and domesticated him.

Heroes and AntiHeroes: Gilgamesh shows hero quality's because he is
their king, and he was a great warrior, and he has done much for the
city. But on the other hand he uses people the way he wants, like
raping the women. So I think that Gilgamesh is the anti-hero. I think
Enkidu is the hero because he is basically everything Gilgamesh is
without the women, and he is the one who got Gilgamesh on track.

Wise Fool: Utnapishtim is the wise fool because he is the one who
survived when the world was almost destroyed. The gods granted him
eternal life so he has much gained knowledge that nobody else does.

Devil Figure: I think Enlil is the devil figure out of most of the
characters. He may be a god but he does not like humankind and wants
to destroy humans.

The Outcast: Enkidu is the outcast in the begining because he doesn't
fit in with the wild or humans.

The Double: I think Gilgamesh is the double because he is good for
being one of the best warriors, a king, and doing great thing for the
city. On the other hand he does things that aren't as good like raping
women and using people.

The Scapegoat: I think Enkidu is because he is different from the
others so it wasn't so hard for him to be killed. The gods are the
ones that killed him because they felt threatened because he had
Gilgamesh kill Humbaba.

The Temptress: I don't know...I couldn't find one.

The Good Mother: Shamhat I would say is the good mother because
although she used her sexuality to tempt Enkidu, she used that for
good things, like freeing him from the wild and having him become a
man.

Gilgamesh is the antihero, because after Enkidu dies, he abandons his
culture and leaves the civilized world. Enkidu is the hero because he
helps to defeat Humbaba and the Bull of Heaven. Utnapishtim is the
wise fool because Gilgamesh goes to him to find out how to bring back
Enkidu and gives Gilgamesh advice but is thought at first to be
ignorant during the flood. The Devil Figure is Humbaba because
Gilgamesh says he has done horrible things and is their enemy. The
outcast is Enkidu because he lives outside of human culture at first.
The doubles are the scorpion man and woman because they don't want to
let Gilgamesh by them but he convinces them to help him. The scapegoat
is Enkidu because he is chosen by the gods to die because of what he
and Gilgamesh have done. The temptresses are the prostitute and
Ishtar. The prostitute because she convinces Enkidu to leave the
animal world and join the human world and Enkidu curses her for it.
Ishtar because she wants Gilgamesh to marry her but he won't so she
has Anu have Enkidu killed. The good mother is Gilgamesh's mother,
Ninsun, because she helps Gilgamesh by telling him what his dreams
mean and tells Enkidu to go with Gilgamesh and protect him.

I belive that Gilgamesh is the antihero because he dosen't really
belive anything and all the stuff he does is for his own personal
interests. He is also the outcast because after Enkidu's death he put
himself on the fringes of society and goes off in search of eternal
life. Gilgamesh is also the double because the only other person he
really cares for and would do anything for Enkidu and that shown on
how he would leave Enkidu's side after he died till he started
rotting. Enkidu is the hero because he does thing not for his glory
but for others and puts others first. That is why he is also the
scapegoat. The wise fool is the prostitute that civilized Enkidu and
taught him the ways of men instead of the animal. Humbaba would
classified as the devil figure because he serves the supreme evil that
we never really met but I think that he is just more of a pawn then a
real threat. Ishtar is the temptress because she tried to get
Gilgamesh to make love with her but he refused. Angry she unleashes
the bull of heaven to rigen destruction on Gilgamesh because he
spurned her. Ninsun is the good mother because she is always there for
Gilgamesh and Enkidu giveing advice and guidence.

The hero is Enkidu because he risks his life for his friends and
because of this he is also the scapegoat. Utnapishtim is the wise

Enkidu's enemy. Enkidu is also the outcast because in the beginning

Hero: I think Enkidu is the hero. He is trying to do the right thing
throughout the story.

Antihero: Gilgamesh because for the most part he is doing the right
things but for the wrong reasons. He wants more power for himself than
simply the good of the people.

Wise Fool: Utnapishtim because he is one of the only people to survive
the floods because he was protected by Ea.

Devil Figure: Humbaba. He represents darkness and is like the bad guy.

Outcast: I would consider Enkidu as the outcast because at the
beginning he was so different from everyone because he was like an
animal.

Double: Gilgamesh is the double because he had been bad but Enkidu
helped him become good.

Scapegoat: Enkidu is the scapegoat because he died trying to help kill
Humbaba and save Gilgamesh.

Temptress: I think there are two temptresses. The prostitute tempted
Enkidu and because she helped civilize him and everything that
happened with Enkidu and Gilgamesh, Enkidu ended up dying. The other
would be Ishtar because she tried to get Gilgamesh to marry her and he
would be forgiven of killing Humbaba but then she sent down the bull
of heaven to try to kill him when he declined.

The Good Mother: Ninsun is the good mother. She actually is
Gilgamesh's mother but she is trying to help them. She also has
visions that can help and she shares them with Gilgamesh.

Gilgamesh would have to be the anti hero because he rapes women

The hero and the antiheros in Gilgamesh are Enkidu and Gilgamesh, this
is so because they are seen as the saviors and the leaders of the
people of uruk. The wise fool could be the prostitue because they see
her as an item and not as a person but it turns out that she is a
person and that she is smart. Humbaba because he is keeping all of the
trees to himself, the people also see him as bad. The outcast is
Enkidu cause he was tamed and lived with the animals. The double is
Gilgamesh because he is bad at first and good ant the end. the
scapegoat is Enkidu because he has to die in order for Gilgamesh to

Antihero- I think Gilgamesh is because he sacrifices warriors whenever
he wants and has sex with guys wives.
The Wise Fool- I think the prostitute is because she seems to be
unwise but she then teaches Enkidu about life.
The Devil Figure- I think Humbaba is because he is an enemy of
Gilgamesh. He guards the Cedar Forest and Gilgamesh fights him and
kills him to enter.
The Outcast- I think Humbaba is because he is sort of alone and is
killed only because they want to enter the forest.
The Double- I think Gilgamesh is because he was a bad king and nobody
liked him but when he returned he was a good king and they liked him.
The Scapegoat- I think Enkidu is because he was killed by a sacrifice
and had powers that matched Gilgamesh but nobody really knew what to
think of him.
The temptress- I think Shamhat is because she tempts Enkidu with
sexual relations which frees him from the wild.
The Good Mother- I think Aruru is because she created Enkidu with
equal strengths as Gilgamesh.

The Hero-Enkidu is the hero because he does the right thing
for proper reasons. In the beginning, he was very helpful to his
animal friends by protecting them from the traps the hunters set. Once
he became civilized, he was very good friends with Gilgamesh and was
giving a charm and asked by Ninsun to protect Gilgamesh. He risked
his very own life when he knew it was pretty much going to be death
ahead for himself all in order to help his companion.
The Antihero-Gilgamesh was the anithero because he did the
wrong things for a different reason. He started out by being a great
and powerful king. As king, he thought he could do anything and had
sex with the virgins before they got married. He also wanted to go
and defeat Humbaba but not for the reason of defeating a force against
good but for himself to feel the praise of killing Humbaba not taking
his companion into much consideration.
The Wise Fool-The Wise Fool is Utnapishtim. Utnapishtim
serves as this figure because he is the one with survived the flood of
Ea. Gilgamesh was horrified when Enkidu died and wanted to find a way
to bring him back to life. He went on a mission to find Utnapishtim
and the secret to eternal life. He found his way across the sea of
death. When he got across he found him. At first he wouldnt tell him
but then right before he left, he told him about a plant with thorns
that is found in the water that gives eternal life. He got the plant
and left it alone while he took a swim and it ended up getting stolen
by a serpent. G. then gave up and returned to Uruk.
The Devil Figure-The devil figure is Humbaba. He lives in a
forrest in which everyone is afraid of. Gilgamesh and Enkidu go and
try to defeat him. At the entrance gate is where Enkidu paralized his
hand. Gilgamesh slashed Humbaba in the back of the neck with an axe
to kill him.
The Outcast-Enkidu is the Outcast. He fits this discription
because in the beginning of the story, he was not a man. He was not
considered human and roamed with the animals. He just wondered place
to place alone until the prostitute came along.
The Double-Gilgamesh is the Double because he used to be evil
while he was king before he met Enkidu and once he met Enkidu, he was
changed into a better man.
The Scapegoat-Enkidu is also the scapegoat. He wears the
charm from Ninsun with pride and stands up in front of Humbaba and
gets his own life taken for his companions.
The Temptress- The temptresses are the prostitutes. Ishtar
is a temptress because she is almost trying to threaten Gilgamesh when
she asks him to marry her and he denies it. She then tells her father
to send the Bull of Heaven down upon him as his pusishment. Siduri
also serves as a temptress because Gilgamesh slept with her while he
was on his mission to find Utnapishtim.
The Good Mother (Earth Mother)-Ninsun is the good mother
because Gilgamesh talks to her about his dreams that he has and she
gives him knowledge that is very useful about his dreams.

Hero - Gilgamesh, the epic is named after him and as it turns out he
is very strong.
Enkidu, he is Gilgamesh's equal and they go on quests together

Wise Fool - Enkidu, at first he was sort of a man/animal creature, but
later on he became civilized and befriends Gilgamesh.

Devil Figure - Humbaba, demon that gaurds the Cedar Forest. Gilgamesh
and Enkidu go on a quest to kill it halfway through the story

The Outcast - Gilgamesh and Enkidu, they both can be thought of as
outcasts because both are god-like and have greater strength than any
normal man. Enkidu can be thought of as more of an outcast because he
was raised in the wilderness and is extremely hairy

The Double - Gilgamesh, before he met Enkidu he was a terrible leader
in that he would force his subjects to do labor and he would endlessly
rape other men's wifes. After Enkidu died, Gilgamesh went on a journey
to find immortality, but instead found a better understanding of his
divine nature.

Scapegoat - Humbaba, not really a threat to Uruk, but seen as more of
a nemesis that needs to be defeated in order to bring prosperity to
Uruk.

Temptress - Ishtar, she is the goddess of love and war and wants to
marry Gilgamesh after he and Enkidu defeat Humbaba. He turns her down
though, because he knows what she has done to her previous lovers.

Good Mother - Ninsun, she is Gilgamesh's mother an when she hears that
Gilgamesh is going to attempt to kill Humbaba, she does a crazy ritual
where she burns some herbs and asks for Shamash to assist Gilgamesh
and Enkidu in their quest

Hero - I think Enkidu is the hero because without Enkidu, Gilgamesh
wouldn't have been able defeat any of the people/things he did. He did
a lot of the work and took little credit without really caring.

Antihero - Gilgamesh... he starts off looking like a great hero, and
in the end, he is the one that becomes a little hubris-istic and only
wants to help himself.

Wise Fool - I think the prostitute is the wise fool because nobody
expected anything from her, and just thought she was no one important,
but she helps Enkidu out in the end.

Devil Figure - I believe Humbaba is the devil figure. He is in a
"forbidden forrest" and is seen as the "bad guy."

Outcast - I'm not sure, but I think Enlil was the outcast. Even though
he was a god, he wanted to kill humans.

Double - Gilgamesh. He starts off kind of bad, just out to kill and
use people, but his experiences make him a better man.

Scapegoat - Enkidu. He is made as Gilgamesh's equal, making him a
threat.

Temptress - Everyone is saying that Shamhat is the temptress...but I
think Ishtar could be. I see her as a destroyer because she sends the
bull on Gilgamesh & she caused harm on all the human lovers she's ever
had.

The Good Mother - Gilgamesh's mom. She is nurturing throughout the
whole story. In the beginning, she prays to the gods for both boys,
and adopts Enkidu as her own son. She is there to guide them and help
them out.

The Hero is Gilgamesh and also Enkidu, because the two were created
equally.
The Wise Fool is the harlot, because she seduced him which gives the
idea that she would be unwise, but she actually domesticates him.
The Devil Figure is Humbaba, because he is the enemy of Gilgamesh.
The Outcast is Humbaba, and he is killed by Gilgamesh.
The Double is Gilgamesh, because he was a bad/unjust kind at first and
changed for the better after becoming friends with Enkidu.(no longer
lonely)
The Scapegoat is Enkidu, because he was sacrificed.
The Temptress was the harlot, because she came to Enkidu and seduced
him and she introduced him to something new.
The good Mother was Auru, because she created Gilgamesh and Enkidu.

Hero: Enkidu. He is matched up to have the strenght as Gilgamesh and
saves him from dieing.

Antihero: Gilgamesh. He is strong but doesn't do things for the right
reason. He does what he wants and doesn't really care what people
think. He is very consided. He's the all mighty but doesn't use his
strength in good situations.

The Wise Fool: Utnapishtim. He was one of the few that survived. He is
one that can live forever..
The Devil Figure: don't know

The Outcast: I dont' know

The Double: Gilgamesh. He is strong but people of Uruk are scared of
him. He is god and he is evil.

THe Scapegoat: Enkidu. Noone knows what to think of him really..
The Temptress: Shamhat. She uses her sexuality to tame Enkidu.
The Good Mother: Ishtar. She helps Giglamesh when he wants to let go
of his pain on the death of his friend. She is a god of fertility.

Hero- Enkidu..Gilgamesh wouldn't have been able to have enough courage
to fight Humbaba having not met Enkidu. Enkidu offers words of wisdom
and helps G overcome his fears.\

Antiohero- Gilgamesh.. He does the right things but has to be pushed
by Enkidu. Possesses alot of hero qualities but has done some shady
stuff in his past

Wise Fool- I guess Utnapisim.. He has lived through very harsh
experiences but I don't think people reguard him as stupid and unwise.

Devil Figure- Humbaba.. He is the ultimate enemy. Who in the long run
is the reason Enkidu dies.
Outcast- At first it is Enkidu, he is not civilized and is wild. But
later it turns to Gilgamesh who feels like an outcast without his
bestfriend. No one understands why is so upset over his death and
thinks the situation is silly.

Double- Gilgamesh... His good side is being king and a powerful
leader. But evil side is disrespecting women and taking advantage of
power

Scapegoat- Enkidu.. He dies because one of them has to. He is the
sacrifice who has to be destroyed.

Tempress- Any of the women fit this title.. Shamhat, Siduri, Istar,
prositutes. they all temp him sexually

Good Mother- Ninsun.. When they decide to go to the forest of death
they seek her for advice and words of wisdom. She tells them about the
dreams and does a ritual asking the gods to keep them safe. She also
takes in Enkidu just like her own son.

Hero: Is probably Enkidu because he is as strong as Gilgamesh
Wisefool: Prostitute, because obviously she's not that smart but
towards the end she helps out Enkidu
Devil Figure:Humbaba, because he's Gilgamesh's enemy and controls the
forest
Outcast: Humbaba, because he is killed by Gilgamesh and Enkidu, and
beheaded
The Double: Gilgamesh, because no one really liked him because he was
a ba king
Scape-Goat: Enkidu, because he is sacrificed so Gilgamesh could live
The Temptress: Shamhat, she pretty much uses her sexual "power" to
tame Enkidu of being more of a man than an animal
The Good Mother: Aruru, because she somewhat made Enkidu so he would
be equal to Gilgamesh

Hero and Antihero: Gilgamesh and Enkidu are the heros and Humbaba and the Bull of Heaven
The Wise Fool: Gilgamesh is sometimes the wise fool. He seems to be ignorant sometimes but also can have wisdom.
The Devil Figure: In my opinion, death to Gilgamesh and Enkidu seems to be the Devil Figure. They are both very scared of it when they go into Humbaba's forests.
The Outcast: Ishtar would be the outcast because she wasn't talked about in the book all that much but she did try to kill Gilgamesh and Enkidu.
The Double: Gilgamesh seemed to have had a different life and point of view before Enkidu came along. Once Enkidu walked into his life, they both changed.
The Scapegoat: The Bull of Heaven seems to relate the Scapegoat because the bull is always aggressive to society.
The Temptress: Ishtar would definitely be the Temptress because she is seen from men as a destroyer and seductive.
The Good Mother: Ninsun is Gilgamesh's mother. She plays a small role in the book, but she gives advise to her son to help him along his journey.

Hero & Antihero: I think Gilgamesh and Enkidu are the heros because
they both save there people from the Bull of Heaven when Ishtar
unleashed the bull.
The Wise Fool: Gilgamesh is sometimes the wise fool because in his
journey to try to bring Enkidu back to life, he keeps messing up and
keeps following the path. He would have known that there was a sign
that he wouldn't. Until the end when he finally is wise enough to give
up.
The Devil Figure: I think Enlil, cause he's the one that is always
wanting something bad for humans.
The Outcast: I believe Ishtar is the outcast because she wanted to
marry Gilgamesh and be with and around him, but he pretty much ditched
her and ignored her. Some times he would be rude to her when she tried
getting him to marry him.
The Double: I think Enkidu had a different view because he seemed to
be the wise one more than Gilgamesh.
The Scapegoat: Enkidu, because was the one that was killed and
sacraficed.
The Temptress: Ishtar, because all she wants is to kill people or get
revenge some how.
The Good Mother: Aruru, because she made Enkidu, which helped them
kill Humbaba and The Bull of Heaven.

I think the hero would obviously be Enkidu because he is made equal to
Gilgamesh and shows equal power. The wise fool I believe is the
prostitute because even though you would think she wouldn't be wise in
any way at the end of the book she is the only one wise enough to be
able to calm down and control Enkidu. The temptress is the shamhat
because she tempts Enkidu with sexual relations that he has never
experienced before and she frees him from the wild to turn to man. The
devil figure is obviously who most would say would be the devil figure
because he rules the forest which would seem like a threat to
Gilgamesh beings he is king and is supposed to rule everything. I
think he is also a devil figure because he is said to be undefeatable
which is proven wrong when Enkidu and Gilgamesh defeat him in battle
but in the end Enkidu also dies. The Good mother is Arurur because she
created Enkidu as an equal to Gilgamesh or it could also be Ninsun
because she had faith in both Enkidu (she also adopted him) and in
Gilgamesh her actual son. The Scapegoat is Enkidu because he is killed
by/as a sacrifice. The double would be Gilgamesh because he used to
rule his people poorley but by the end of the story he turns good
becuase he has realized the full extent of life.

I think the hero is Enkidu because he helps Gilgamesh kill Humbaba and
the Bull of Heaven. He kinda changes gilgamesh into being a better
person and shows him the difference between right and wrong. Gilgamesh
is the antihero because he sleeps with women before they get married
or on their wedding day, he helps Enkidu and thinks more highly of
himself than others. The wise fool I think would actually be the
prostitute because she helped Enkidu become a man instead of an
animal. The devil figure I think would be Humbaba and the Bull of
Heaven because they try to kill Gilgamesh and Enkidu and Humbaba tries
to stop them from entering the forest. The outcast would be enkidu
because he lived with animals before he met the prostitute. The double
is Gilgamesh because he uses his birthright for the wrong reasons and
people saw him as a bad king. The scapegoat is Enkidu because he dies
while helping Gilgamesh defeat Humbaba and the Bull of Heaven. The
temptress is Ishtar because she wants Gilgamesh to be her lover but
she turns her lovers into animals. The good mother is Gilgamesh's mom
because she accepts Enkidu and tells his father to give the secret of
immortality to him.

Hero-Enkidu- b/c hes always there to lend Gilgamesh a hand. He does
alot but isn't fond of taking the credit for it.
Antihero-Gilgamesh- he doesn't do things for the right reason. He
doesn't really care if somebody doesnt like what hes doing. He does it
just to please himself.
The wise fool- Utnapisim. He's been through harsh experiences and
survives.
Devil figure- Humbaba is the enemy of many, who ends up being the
reason for Enkidu's death.
Outcast- Gilgamesh he feels as though no one understands why he is
upset with Enkidu's death.
Double- Gilgamesh- He shows his good side by being the king and a very
powerful leader. He also shows an evil side in the way of not treating
the women right and his "power"
Scapegoat- Endkidu- He dies b/c he understands someone has to. He
sacrifices himself for the "good of the whole".
Temptress- Any of the females in this story could fit in this spot.
they all tempt Gilgamesh sexually and know how to do it without
suspision.
Good Mother- Ninsun- She is the one everyone else seeks advice from.
She knows what is "right" in tough situations.

i believe the hero in the story is Enkidu because he shows hero
qualitys and is equal to Gilgamesh. The Wise fool is the prostitute
because she tames Enkidu from being a wild man and in the end does the
reight thing and her intensions were good. The Devil Figure in the
story would have to be Humbaba because he is Gilgameshs enemy and is
an evil character. The outcast would have to be Humbaba as well cause
he is out in the forest alone and is hated by everyone. The scapegoat
would have to be Enkidu because he dies for gilgamesh and serves him
well. The double is Gilgamesh because he is a very bad hero and king
to the people and then meets his rival and then friend Enkidu and
becomes a better person. The temptress is the prostitute because she
changes Enkidu from a wild man to a more sophisticated person. The
good mother is Ninsun because she guides the heros and has the good
mother qualities.

Hero: Gilgamesh because even tho endiku is as strong the story is
about gilgamesh.
Wisefool: Untnaphisthim because he has lived so long and learned many
things.
Devil Figure:Humbaba, because he's evil and Gilgamesh's enemy and
controls the
forest
Outcast:Untnaphisthim because once he became immortal he hides away
from the rest of life.
The Double: Gilgamesh, because he was considered 2/3 god so half man
half god and also he was a bad king at first and then later he became
a good ruler.
Scape-Goat: Enkidu, because he is sacrificed so Gilgamesh could live
The Temptress: prostitute, she is used by gilgamesh to tame Endiku.
The Good Mother: Aruru, because she is kind to both endiku and
