Hello all,

I think most of you are already aware of the fact that GCES needs some good lecturers.  As of now, we need at least 2 people to handle 4 subjects.  Then, there are the final year projects - which, I hope will be handled by present staff.

We have been trying for the past few months by personally contacting a few people.  And, one of them who was very positive about joining here for many months had to abruptly change the decision due to some unavoidable circumstances (some personal reasons).  Same thing happened with another possible candidate for a part-time lecturer.    So, we are in a sort of a crisis.

The classes are going to begin on July 1st.

As of now, the subjects that we have set aside for the new comers are :
1. Object Oriented Software Engineering
2. Principles of Programming Languages
3. Client Server Architecture
4. Network Programming.

However, I hope, if the new comer is good in some other subjects, then we would be able to accommodate by swapping subjects with the existing staff.

If any of you are interested, or if you know if anyone will be suitable to handle these subjects (and students), please contact us within a week.

Just a note.  Students are not complaining and are very good nowadays because (1) they see their seniors with good jobs and doing well, and (2) they are satisfied with the teaching and are getting good amount of practical work to do.   (1) will remain and continue.  But, it is in the hands of the lecturers to keep up (2).  Even if there is some dissatisfaction among some small group, then it can lead to some problem that can have the potential to affect the admissions which are a few months away.

GCES has its own strengths.  It cannot take the commercial route taken by many other colleges.  It will be good if we can get lecturers who can move on in this direction.

Please let us know if you know anyone.

Pass on this information to others.  Please DO NOT forward this mail to others.

regards,
Prasanna David
