Taking part in a public consultation can provide an authentic context for addressing some of the ethical and other issues in the Science in Society course. The
Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) is now seeking public views on emerging IVF techniques designed to prevent mitochondrial disease. See:
