Description: We've received a report of an issue with Google Compute Engine as of Tuesday, 2020-07-28 00:57 US/Pacific.

About 20% of calls to the API endpoint setCommonInstanceMetadata are failing or taking a long time. This is commonly used by GKE which is also affected by this outage. Some other API calls may also be affected.

We will provide more information by Tuesday, 2020-07-28 03:30 US/Pacific.

Diagnosis: Calls to setCommonInstanceMetadata, and some other endpoints, fail or take a long time to execute.

Workaround: Customers should retry any failed operations.
