Hi, can anyone help out with 'how' to make static routes persistent on VM instances within GCE. Ubuntu uses Cloud-init I guess, and not sure how Debian is doing it. Any examples would be great. Please don't respond with links to GCE's page on static routing for the Cloud, as this post is about VM side routing and not VPC routing. Thanks.

Hi,

If you want to create routes within GCE specifically, then you will need to configure the routing GCE itself, as mentioned in this article. Think of using this to configure the routing table on the gateway. You do not need any additional configurations on the VM instances due to the fact that all VM instances send outgoing packets to the gateway.
