Hello,

In the last couple of days a new update for Debian 9.x has been published, I think related to the Spectre / Meltdown issue.
Unfortunately this update seems to conflict with the google-compute-engine package already installed:

root@stage:~# apt upgrade

Reading package lists... Done

Building dependency tree

Reading state information... Done

Calculating upgrade... Done

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have

requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable

distribution that some required packages have not yet been created

or been moved out of Incoming.

The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:

google-compute-engine : Conflicts: irqbalance but 1.1.0-2.3 is to be installed

E: Broken packages

root@stage:~#

Any suggestion how to resolve this issue ?
I heard irqbalance is evil for GCE VM's..

Thanks in advance

Kind regards

Ale
