Hi,
I’m trying to move an instance (started or terminated, does not matter) from one region to another. (not between zones in the same region).
Any idea how to move an instance from one region to another? I already spent lots of time on installing software and configuring that instance in the first regino, and I do not wish to start all over in the new region.
(The reason I need to move to another region is that my region does not support GPU’s, so I move to a region that does).
So, any ideas how to move an instance from one region to another? (NOT between zones in the same region)
Thanks,

Not sure if this is the best answer, but to get around the image creation issue, you can stop the instance. Then edit it and make sure the "delete boot disk when instance is deleted" item is UNchecked. Then save the settings, and delete the instance. Now you have the disk sitting there, not attached to an instance and you can create an image. We're working on removing this limitation, by the way. I'm not sure about the subnetworks restriction, that's trickier. :/

- When I use the ”gcloud compute instances move ...” command, I get an error: “ Instances belonging to subnetworks cannot be moved interregionally.
- When I try to create an image of the existing zone (with intention of starting it in another zone) I get an error: “You can't create an image from a disk that's attached to a VM instance.”
