Hi.

I'm having a wierd problem - I'm running a windows server 2008r2 on a virtual machine instance in google cloud.
On the windows server there is an http service thats running all the time.

After a long run, Sometimes the windows server stops responding me (From my ip!), but if I try to connect from other computers that are connected to the internet via other IPs, I can connect to it.
This happens to all types of connections (remote desktop connection, http service, ping, etc'...).

I tried to disable most of the firewall advanced options of the company, And it didn't helped.

But if I restart the windows machine on the google developers console, I can connect to the windows machine back for a few hours, until it happens again...

Help anybody?

Thanks.

Hi,

I would suggest implementing a heart beat between your local network and Google's Windows instance. The issue might be caused from a TCP Keep alive connection timeout. You can check the following article for more information.

George, I didn't implemented/created application protocol over top/ip by my self. I'm using http and sometimes rdp, and I can't create new connections to them either.

Hi,

you can check the following links [1] and [2] for more information on how to increase your TCP keep-alive.

Thanks!!

When you try to connect via HTTP, what is the error that you get? Connection refused? or connection timed out?
what about ping? time out?
I don't have any ideas for you, but that would be useful debugging info to someone I bet.
