Hi Experts,

I have recently installed wordpress on Google Compute Engine, but unable to find the wordpress files after connecting to the server using SFTP. Any idea where it would be present? Under which folder?

Hello Prabhudatta,

You need to make sure your user account has permission to access the WordPress files. If you have used Google Click to Deploy to install WordPress on GCE instance the wp-content directory is located under /var/www/html/wp-content. You can refer to this link for more information on changing permissions for WordPress.

I hope that helps.

I am facing the same issue. No folders called www. Also in the console, find . -name "*.php" returns nothing. Any help is appreciated

Since the post you're replying to is over a year and a half old, it's possible that your situation is different. Could you please specify where you got your configuration of Wordpress from (for example if you used Cloud Launcher, which solution did you select, since there are several WP configurations), so we have some more context?

Yeah. I have used the cloudlauncher with gcp- community provided. Not the vendored. After successful installation, Logged into the compute engine via ssh and couldn't find any files. The /var/www/ doesn't has wp. Being served from somewhere.
