It seems like it is impossible to resize my k8s node groups in eu-north1-a since at least thursday.  I've tried e2-medium and n2d instance types.

There is nothing indicating any issue at https://status.cloud.google.com/

Can anyone shed light on what is happening at eu-north1-a?

Thanks,
Alexander

I think we're on the fifth day now.  I understand that there is a disk shortage.

The uptime for the zone is now 98% already for the year.  When will this be resolved?  Is there some official issue I can track for this?

Thanks,
Alexander

Hello,

Just to confirm there is no official issue going on for the zone eu-north1-a. It seems like you are affected by the disk stockout for that zone.

First, our apologies that the Google Cloud resources you need are not currently available. Our goal is to make sure that there are resources in all zones.

A stockout occurs when GCE rejects a VM-creation request and the customer is not at fault (that is, the customer has sufficient quota, the request is well-formed, and the zone supports the requested kind of VM). In these cases stockouts occur due to a lack of one more resources in the zone / region where the VM-creation request was made.

We recommend deploying and balancing your workload across multiple zones and regions to reduce the likelihood of an outage and have access to multiple resource pools when you need to expand quickly. Please review our documentation which outlines how to build resilient and scalable architectures on Google Cloud Platform. Please note that you are currently using Google Cloud on-demand without a guarantee of capacity. We now offer a feature called reservations that guarantees Google Cloud capacity, see our documentation for details on how to use this feature.
