I tried GCSFUSEing to a Google Storage Bucket. But it doesn't seem to be working.

I have a Google Storage Bucket, and I have GCSFUSE installed on a Compute engine. And I've set up a mountpoint directory in /var, with:
sudo mkdir /var/wintouchresources
sudo chmod 777 wintouchresources

When I GCSFUSEd the mountpoint to the bucket from a command line, it seemed to work:

redacted@redacted:/var$ sudo gcsfuse -o allow_other -file-mode=777 -dir-mode=777 redacted /var/redacted

Using mount point: /var/redacted

Opening GCS connection...

Opening bucket...

Mounting file system...

File system has been successfully mounted.

But if I try to then create a directory therein, it consistently comes back with

 redacted@redacted:/var/redacted$ sudo mkdir foo

mkdir: cannot create directory ‘foo’: Input/output error

and I get similar messages trying to create a simple text file with nano.

Can somebody shed some light on what went wrong?

You might be suffering from insufficient GCS permissions, as per the thread at https://stackoverflow.com/questions/36382704/gcsfuse-input-output-error

That was it: the Google Compute instance didn't have "Full" scope on "Storage."

Thanks.
