How to start Ubuntu VM in safe mode

May i start my VM in safe mode for maintenance ??

How can i do that ?

Hello Irwan,

Can you please provide me more information regarding use case why do you need to restart VM in safe mode?
Unfortunately, at present, there is no option in GCP to restart VM in safe mode.

I need to repair my OS, because i meet this case when i access a sudo command :

"sudo: /usr/bin/sudo must be owned by uid 0 and have the setuid bit set"

To repaird  it, i need to get root access, my VM using ubuntu, by default, ubuntu disabled root access.... so i need to login in safe mode to get root shell
