I can't access VM instances, tips "Request failed with unknown error"


But the Google Service status are green :(

Please send me via a private message:

1- Project ID

2- Is this just happening on one particular page of the project? What other pages are being affected?

3- Does it happens if you use a private window?

4- Is this intermittent? When did this issue started?

5- If you use the CLI (Cloud SDK) are you able to retrieve the information? i.e  if the page failing is the “VM instances” does it work using “gcloud compute instances list”?

This error was running two days, and error page also show on my new installed browser.

Hi, I'm having the same problem too
  (Request failed with unknown error) for two days. I have tried accessing from the application android "Clou Console" from my device and I have no problem, I can see the instances there and I can even access the SSH that includes CC, but in the desktop pc the problem is from my Opera browser 48.0, I have removed the cache and cookies from the browser for a possible solution, but not. The problem seems to be in a part of the GCP interface, specifically in Computer Engine VM, since then I could not access my VMs. I was waiting for it to work out for itself, but almost 3 days already.

Hi,
I am also facing the same issue for more than 3 days now. Below are more details regarding the issue.

Error message: "Request failed with unknown error"

  • Unable to view the "Compute" and "Networking Services" tabs. 
  • Happens to all the projects within the account.
  • Able to view when I login from my local desktop, issue occurs when I try to login from the Google VMs.
  • Happens with private (incognito) windows as well.
  • The issue is not intermittent and consistent for more than 3 days. 
  • Able to view the instances using gcloud commands in G shell.
Please help.

Hello,

I had this problem too,but this can not happen while using other ip address provided not by GCE"s VPS

A fix was submitted yesterday and several customers have confirmed it is working.

Glad to hear is working. I have not many details on the fix, but apparently the error only occurred when accessing the Console from some particular IP addresses.

April 25th, and getting this error - thought is was due to some developemnt work (I have CORS Toggle for Chrome active), but shut it off and still an issue (CORS gives me "server errors" for GDrive BTW).


All status for cloud are clear?!

Well "CORS Toggle" extension was the issue!!  

Once enabled, even disabling CORS is not enough.  I have to disable the extension all together and then all works fine.  (Drive server errors go away also) - nasty.  I need CORS enabled for some dev work I'm doing with NodeJS.

All issues on this thread might not be related. My advice would be to try to isolate the issue on your side first, for example

1.Try from a different browser
2.Try in incognito mode
3.Try from a different IP
4.Do you happen to know if other users or colleagues experiencing the same issue?

Then you can either open a support case or create a report bug here.

i have already to try using : 

1. deferent browser(google chrome and firefox)
2. incognito mode and private window(on firefox)
3. using defferent IP and using VPN to
4. send this problems using "Send feedback"

in my team this problems is only appear on my acount.

please give me the solution of this issue,
