Someone was ddosing my server alot today. And after a while this showed up Project blocked; abuse detected. Cant really Google see the difference from beeing the ddoser or getting ddosed? So is there a way to atleast get my file backups?

This is really surprising (and troubling as well)

I was of the view that Google Cloud can block such attacks but you saying they would block the whole project for things like that ??  :(

Hello Guy,

Thank you for your message and I'm sorry to hear that your project is disrupted.

I'd like to mention that in such an incident, Google Cloud Platform Trust & Safety team will immediately send an email to the project owners with more information regarding the issue and the steps to minimize disruption of the project.

That being said, I encourage you to follow the instructions they provided via email and contact them immediately with the requested information to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

We do not generally block projects because of *incoming* DDoS attacks. If a project receives an abuse notice, it means that project is *causing* abuse somehow, whether known to the owners or not.

Please note that unfortunately we cannot discuss the details of any particular customer's account on this public forum, which means that the likely outcome here will only be speculation about what's happening. Unless the customer chooses to share the outcome, which is entirely up to them.

Sorry we can't be more specific about this exact case, but rest assured the customer is in contact with our support teams.
