I've tried spinning up an instance with a P100 GPU attached in all of the us-* zones that have this GPU option:
  • us-central1-c
  • us-central1-f
  • us-east1-b
  • us-east1-c
  • us-west1-a
  • us-west1-b
All of them got the 'The zone 'projects/xxx/zones/us-xxx-x' does not have enough resources available to fulfill the request. ' error. But if I try without a gpu, I can spin up the instance. Is this normal?

It's a stockout error. Basically it means that the zone doesn't have enough GPUs to provision your VM what you're asking for.
Google tries to provision as many as possible but given the times it's likely that this kind of hardware is in scarce quantity or manufacturing has slowed.

Just wondering if you eventually have been able to spin up your instance? I still am having trouble after a few days of continuously trying and can't seem to find a solution for this anywhere.

Hi,

Even I am going thru same issue, I was using p100 GPU for computing, suddenly it says no resource at this zone, later i tried all possible zones but no luck.
Looking for inputs on how this can solved. I am in touch with sales and tech support, so far no concrete answer on this.

Regards,
Sara

I believe it's related to the pandemic related disruptions which is affecting global supply chains.

No new GPUs are being manufactured!

I am trying for past 3 weeks, and it is the same especially on the weekends. This is horrible.

Same problem here; it seems it's been brought up quite a few times on the issue-tracker.
