The Google Cloud platform has shut my project down because it "appears to be committing denial of service attacks." I am running an ElasticSearch cluster. My service was shutdown on a Saturday night at 11:30PM. Now I am losing time while I have to migrate to a different provider.

I would think another provider is also going to shut you down if your VMs are the source of DOS attacks.

Hello,

It is important to remember that it is your responsibility to keep your GCE VM guest software and libraries patched and updated with the latest security patches. For a list of ElasticSearch vulnerabilities and instructions for patching them, please see this link.

You should have received an email with instructions for getting your project reinstated once you've taken appropriate actions to prevent such compromises.

If you have other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Regards,

-ScottVW
