Can't ssh into instance

I have been using the browser window ssh client and I can't seem to login, always getting a:
"Connection Failed
We are unable to connect to the VM on port 22. Learn more about possible causes of this issue."
I have tried logging in using putty, unsuccessfully. How do I connect to my instance?

Hello -- I would like to suggest you this documentation [1] which provide several diagnoses regarding an SSH issue.
To be honest, the must common SSH issues are related to the VM disk being full [2] or the port 22 closed [3].
