Names

"I couldn't wait and started thinking about what sort of data we have and what sort we'd want. This is what I came up with:

name
aliases (or real name if the common name is an alias)

Just to elaborate on this point--a given creator should have an "official" name with us (librarians--would this be the authority record?), but could have several other types of names associated with them.  We should record each name, and each name should redirect to the "official" name.

 

Types of names:

 

Birth name

"common" name

pen name(s)

house name(s) -- note that house names would be shared by multiple creators; tech would need to come up with a solution for that

changed names (names changed due to marriage or gender changes; e.g. Louise Jones/Louise Simonson; Arn Saba/Katherine Collins)
