Hi,

On https://www.comics.org/character/6261/ under 'Appearances With a Character Origin Universe', i click mainstream, and get to https://www.comics.org/character/6261/issues/character_universe/2/

If there were comic or cover sequences it would show them, but it doesn't for issues with promos, yet i know there are promos, for example, the bottom promo of https://www.comics.org/issue/2626461/?issue_detail=2 (note i have a fix in the queue, but you get the idea).

Please can we add an extra filter along with country, language, publisher, perhaps something like 'include other sequences such as promos' checkbox. Or maybe we could make this link work: https://www.comics.org/character/6261/sequences/character_universe/2/ ?

I got something working locally for the extra filter, it defaults to the current core sequences:

If you then toggle it, it works to find those pesky few issues where the wrong universe has been used on non-core sequences:

I could test that some more and then have a PR up.

OR - we consider option B, add universes to the sequence page here:

If we would prefer that option let me know and i can have a go at that instead.

I think that option B, add universes to the sequence page is useful in a
more general nature ? I.e. have a selection box with the used universes.
Although you would need to do some more coding for that.

as a checkbox doesn't feel like it should be on top.

Better, as a dropdown, i.e. a checkbox for 'included sequences', where
the core sequences are pre-selected.

I took a first look and I think the  gcd_story_universe table is yet to be included in the daily sql datadump (but gcd_story_character is included), if I have that right, is it something we could look to include please?

I thought more about sequence type filtering, this is useful for creator
credits as well. Working on adding them, should be done later.

Forgot to add, looking at the diff of this change will give you pointers
where you would need to do something for filtering on universes.

Will do! I got something midway isn’t an combo of what we have an ld some suggestions from copilot so will look at that as wasn’t sure on a couple bits (the many to many relation makes it slightly different too) so will look through your change too thankyou!

I also wanted to make a small css adjustment alongside, I think I need to change the input and then run the standard npx tailwind css to regen the output file, as it doesn’t look like we have any particularly custom frontend build scripts. One for tomorrow anyway :).

Right, css changes are currently not supported / documented in the dev
environment. Besides running a tailwindcss I use an html-file with the
css we have in the view code. There must be a better solution instead of
that workaround.
