I guess what it comes down to for me is that I don't like the idea that bits of data can be floating out there, with nothing linking them to anything else. We could have publishers with no series, creators with no credits, etc, just out there that we don't know about because the only way to find them is by coming across them in a search. Having a master list can help us find redundancies and misspellings. It can also help us find holes in our data. Creators could be "split" by letter like we for issues on mycomics. Ideally I'd like to have a master page for everything we can "add new."
What should be on them? We don't need much, maybe country, beginning/birth year, ending/death year? Just enough to have it be able to be found some other way than by search.
