Switching to native mode - no writes yet

Earlier today I was reading the docs for both datastore and firestore to find the best one for a new project. I ended up choosing firestore but somehow choose the wrong mode in confusion.

Now, no writes have taken place yet. From my reading, I should somehow be able to change the mode since nothing has been written? However, I do not see how I'll go about it?

Any advice?

If you haven't written anything yet you should be able to use glcoud, e.g. `gcloud firestore databases create` https://cloud.google.com/sdk/gcloud/reference/firestore/databases/create

Hi,

I have a datastore instance with no data in it. I was able to see a "switch to native" button on the UI. But when I click on the button, I got an *Internal error* message. Then I tried the instructions on https://stackoverflow.com/a/64455238/309830. I got another error on the command line, and the "switch to native" button is gone.

Is there any other way I can do to switch to Firestore API?

I don't know if you have tried again through the UI to switch the mode, but the mode can also be switched through the API as documented at https://cloud.google.com/datastore/docs/firestore-or-datastore#changing_between_native_mode_and_datastore_mode .
