Board Chair's 2nd quarter 2025 report

Chair's Board report for the 2nd quarter of 2025:
    There was no new discussion of long-range goals for the GCD.

    There were no significant new contacts regarding commercial use of our data this quarter.

    I have recently reviewed our ongoing efforts for our main project of cataloging comics data and found that we have about 357 indexers who had changes approved during the quarter.  This is nearly the same as the previous quarter.

    I have also received the following reports and am forwarding them to the Board.

Policy Coordinators' report:
    No report received.

Reservations Coordinators' report:
    The Coordinators acted upon at least one request to increase members reservation limits this quarter.

PR Committee / Social Media Coordinator's report:
    As noted last quarter, the PR Team is effectively defunct.  The Committee reported then that it has had no discussions or done anything in several years.  Lionel no longer is reporting on our social media accounts.  It has no plans for any actions or activities.

Feature Committee:
    The committee submitted its final report, which generated little Board discussion.

Documentation Coordinators' report:
    The Documentation Coordinators have continued to update the wiki for Policy Votes, though there is currently a small backlog of changes for Policy Votes.  We have also made minor changes for clarity and link improvements.

Mailing List Administrators' report:
    No members were placed on moderation or given warnings this quarter.

Treasurer's report:
    No report received.

Secretary's report:  
    The Board approved the GCD acquiring a new official telephone
number, which the Treasurer then obtained.
    The Board approved retaining Rehmann to handle our 2024 taxes, which they then prepared and on 3 May our tax forms were sent to the IRS.
    New servers for our website were bought.
    The Board reappointed Juan Gonzalez to the Policy Coordinators group.
    Attempts were made to obtain a new Paypal donation account.  Problems have stalled this effort due to our international status but attempts are continuing.
    Official GCD T-shirts and other merchandise were discussed.  No action was taken.
    A plan to accept comics to be indexed was discussed.  No action taken.
    The Feature Committee made recommendations.  No discussion was undertaken by Board.
    Problems receiving Board emails by Board members were discussed.

Editors' group report:

        The Editors did not add any new Editors during the last quarter.

eBay data download facility report:
        We received the donation from eBay in April and it has been deposited to our bank account.

Tech and SysAdmin Coordinators:
        Jochen has recently been working on updating the look and feel of our website.
