Board Chair's 1st quarter 2025 report

Chair's Board report for the 1st quarter of 2025:
    There was no new discussion of long-range goals for the GCD.

    There were no significant new contacts regarding commercial use of our data this quarter.

    I have recently reviewed our ongoing efforts for our main project of cataloging comics data and found that we have about 362 indexers who had changes approved during the quarter.  This is up slightly from the previous quarter.

    I have also received the following reports and am forwarding them to the Board.

Policy Coordinators' report:
    No report received.

Reservations Coordinators' report:
    The Coordinators acted upon at least two requests to increase members reservation limits this quarter.

PR Committee / Social Media Coordinator's report:
    As noted last quarter, the PR Team is effectively defunct.  The Committee reported then that it has had no discussions or done anything in several years.  Lionel no longer is reporting on our social media accounts.  It has no plans for any actions or activities.

Feature Committee:
    The committee has completed its discussions and will submit a final report.  I will be submitting the report to the Board for our discussion, in a separate e-mail.

Documentation Coordinators' report:
    The Documentation Coordinators have continued to update the wiki for Policy Votes, though there is currently a small backlog of changes for Policy Votes.  We have also made minor changes for clarity and link improvements.

Mailing List Administrators' report:
    No members were placed on moderation or given warnings this quarter.

Treasurer's report:
        This is the first full quarter that our new Treasurer Alexandros has been on duty.  Due to some personal obligations and minor illnesses, he has not yet started work on his duties as Treasurer in earnest.  Therefore, I have once again prepared the following to report for March 31 (all figures given in USD):
    Fund Balance = $41,399.43
            Chase Bank account = $33,410.91
            PayPal account = $7988.52
    Income:
            PayPal donations = $3166.00
    Expenses:
            Hetzner server costs = $388.43
            iPostal mail costs = $152.98 (incl. renewal)
            IncFile costs = $119.00 (incl. renewal)
            VOIP.MS phone costs = $25.00
            PayPal fees = $114.31
            Chase currency conversion fees = $11.63

Secretary's report:  
        No report received.

Editors' group report:

        The Editors group approved adding one new Editor during the last quarter.

eBay data download facility report:
        We are awaiting payment of the donation mentioned in the contract with eBay to supply GCD data in a specialized format for their use.  I have filled out some necessary forms submitted by eBay.

Tech and SysAdmin Coordinators:
        Jochen has recently been working on updating the look and feel of our website.
