Using GCal4Ruby and invitations

I just started using this to create events for my google calendar. I
can add attendees, but it seems an invitation for the event is not
sent to them. Is there an event option I am missing? Is this
functionality available?

Hi there, unfortunately, invitations are a feature that Google doesn't provide automatically through the GCal API. You'll have to generate your own invitations via email if you'd like to provide that functionality. If the user is a google account holder, the event should appear on the their calendar as pending when you add them as an attendee, just without the email. Thanks,
