Subject: RE: Geelong Bangla School update
Dear All,
From my point of view, there is no difference between Geelong Bangla School Management committee and GBS. For the shake of community harmony, we believe both are same and part and parcel for each other. Celebrating 21st February is important, it is not important who is doing that. I mean Bangla school management committee can do that. Everybody can attend in kid’s Bangla class on regular basis if he/she has an intention and scope to spend valuable time for kid’s Bangla learning. Any of us in Geelong, can spend some valuable time to share knowledge, thoughts, story, heritage etc. and can contribute to know “Bangla language”.
In reality, some of us have less interest to spend time on regular basis to join in kid’s Bangla class. Considering the importance of Bangla class and continue it on regular basis, it is an optional for those who has less interest to join in Kid’s Bangla class.
Kind Regards
Joglul Kabir

Dear All,
There is no confusion between GBS and Bangla school committee. Bangla school program is totally a separate small endeavour for kids Bangla language learning event. We have been successfully continue Kid’s Bangla class for almost one year.
As I mentioned before, in reality, some of us have less or not interest to spend time on regular basis to join in kid’s Bangla class. Same as Arabic language class. It is an optional matter for those who has less interest to join. Different person has different types of interest and scope and limitation.
Considering the importance of Bangla class and to continue it on regular basis some of us could do it for him/his own interest and benefits. GBS can take initiative to do this to engage most of the people. Very limited person are regularly attend in Kid’s Bangla class. Bangla School has only interest to celebrate 21st February event which is very relevant with Kid’s Bangla learning. For example, we have a small group of Badminton players and if Badminton players group are intend to organise any relevant event they can do it. It does not mean Badminton players group take all the roles of GBS. Similar example can be given for Geelong Cricket team or any other small play group or even Geelong Arabic Class (propose) can intend to organise some relevant event. It is impossible to organise each and every small event by GBS as a whole community.
Thank you and please attend in Kid’s Bangla class.
Dear Khaled Bhai,
Assalamu-alikum. I am more than happy to join and support if GBS ad-hoc committee to take initiative to celebrate 21st February. As a great endeavour for Kid’s Bangla language learning we should support and keep going Bangla class on regular basis. As a Bangla class coordinator, I will let you know the venue for Bangla class on 21st February 2016 soon.
For the shake of community harmony Managing Committee of GBS should take initiative about 21st February celebration. Rubel Vai, could you please call a meeting on behalf of GBS ad-hoc committee to celebrate 21st February.
Kind Regards
Joglul
Bangla Class Co-ordinator

Thanks Khaled Bhai for adding me in your reply. I wasn't the recipient of original message sent by Tohid Bhai and I think it wasn't meant for me or many of us who were not included in the original email. According to Joglul’s email, 21st February program is only for people who has been regular in Bangla School classes.
Thanks Joglul Bhai and his team for excluding me and my family from the 21st February program and Geelong Bangla School program.
Kind regards,

Dear Omar Bhai,
Assala-mualikum. I have just recognized by your email that you are not included. Please avoid to write something by personal attack such as “Joglul Bhai and his team for excluding me and my family”. I answered the mail that I got from others. Thank you.
Kind Regards
Joglul
Dear All,
Peace be upon you. It is good to see streams of mails flowing on the topic in the last few hours or so. I must say that the general enthusiasm on the matter has been almost unprecedented. There have been confusions, clarifications and arguments all around. However, I thought as the convenor of the GBS ad-hoc committee, it is now time to emphasise certain points and suggest the future directions towards formation of the organisation (if at all), as per the details given below,
· The constitution of the GBS as well as the new proposed Management Committee (MC) will only be effective from the date of the next general meeting upon approval of the constitution by the members of the community, as per the relevant clauses of the constitution.
· The members of the community seem to be generally interested to celebrate 21st Feb. We can certainly get this done in the best way possible. This celebration could be arranged by the GBS adhoc committee, in view of the general support obtained so far.
· A proposed date of the first general meeting could be 21st Feb., 2016, before or after the celebrations of the day.
· A meeting of the adhoc committee will be convened soon, in order to plan for the language day celebrations and the first general meeting.
May I also request you all to be judicious in using words and phrases in group mail, so as to not jeopardise the communal harmony, and to minimise/ avoid provocation and personal offences, whether or not intended. Let’s not contribute to the cause of the consequence we have been fearful about at the first place. Please also share your thoughts about the plan for the general meeting and celebrations of the language day, as indicated above.
Kind regards.
Mokhtarul Wadud
Convenor
Adhoc Committee, GBS
I have 2 points.
1. Forming a committee is not essential to organize a program. We have been celebrating various cultural programs very successfully for last 7 years without having any formal committee. To my opinion, what jeopardising the communal harmony most is formation process of these committees; the sooner we get it the better.
2. I think calling a general meeting (which is equivalent to AGM) needs 4 weeks of notice.
