PiXL is a partnership of thousands of schools, colleges, and alternative education providers spanning KS1-5. We are here to walk alongside school leaders, helping to equip them as they work to improve life chances and outcomes and act as agents of change in their schools.

We are intelligence led and evidence informed and through our networking, events, leadership growth work, resources, and strategies, we aim to save school leaders time by providing the right support at the right time.

Membership to each of our sectors has the core aim of working with school leaders so that they are equipped to increase outcomes, improve life chances and become agents of change. This happens through regular meetings, a wealth of strategy and resource and PiXL Specialists who work with every school. Each sector is led by a team of specialists who understand the needs of each sector and the evolving educational landscape.

PiXL provides a reassuring touchstone, and never more has that been so important to school leaders. PiXL is populated with like-minded and motivated colleagues who give due thought and consideration about how to best approach the myriad of decisions school leaders take every day. I've worked with PiXL for 8 years now and every meeting leaves me inspired to try new ideas, reassured about things my school is doing well and resolved to continually do better for the young people in my school.

I can honestly say this has been one of the instrumental factors in our success story. The ideas, resources and expertise, which has been so willingly shared by the whole PiXL team, has enabled our Sixth Form to continually change and radically improve. Every single meeting has been packed with fresh ideas and practical tips to help students thrive, both academically and also as a well-rounded individual.

PiXL is more than just a network of schools; it is a welcoming organisation, with highly experienced people, offering unparalleled professional support and CPD. PiXL will continue to improve the education system and culture of the schools, Sixth Forms and colleges who introduce and embed their strategies, as it has already.

I trust my leaders with PiXL: PiXL leadership moves with the times and develops all tiers of leaders, ranging from my new middle leaders to my most experienced Heads of School. It has inspired them to question and challenge themselves, whilst holding their hand and supporting their next steps.

In a world of uncertainty, PiXL continues to show its true worth to schools across the nation. The integrity and humility with which the organisation works are quite unique in the world of education support and their drive to focus on the best for our young people is indubitable. Constantly offering support in key areas where the need is greatest, PiXL continues to be the greatest source of support imaginable.

PiXL is completely driven by its values and moral purpose, acting solely in the interests of the young people in our schools by helping and supporting staff to choose the most appropriate, evidence-informed strategies and resources for their students. PiXL is an incredibly agile organisation in which the exceptional team is able to provide whatever support schools need in the interests of their students.

In Secondary, we know that support for the Raising Standards Leader is crucial, but so is the support for middle leaders. That is why we produce resources and leadership thinking materials for leadership at all levels.

The best way to experience what being part of PiXL is like is to attend our next PiXL Secondary National Conference as a guest. They happen three times a year. Email membe...@pixl.org.uk to arrange to attend the next one as a guest school.

With the announcement that exams are due to go ahead this summer, as schools and teachers, you find yourselves in an all too familiar position at this time of year. With revision, learning and teaching all now gearing up to the summer exam period, GCSE have geared our efforts at making sure the student path towards progression, confidence and achievement is as smooth as possible.

As part of our partnership with PiXL, we often orient our free resources to directly align with the strategies and needs of PiXL members. From producing mapped content for the Horseforth quadrant to, more recently, a very successful Build Up support programme which scaffolded support and ready-made content for thousands of students.

The sessions have been designed to support pupils either side of the KS2-KS3 transition in their development of Growth Mindset. With two parallel courses adapted for students in Years 5/6 and Years 7/8, teachers gain full access to:

To use the resources, pupils will need to read YOU ARE AWESOME (either in class or at home). Through the sessions, they will be exposed to the importance of learning from their failures, shown how success is entirely dependent on hard work and persistent determination and challenged to employ resilience in the face of obstacles on their educational journey.

These sessions have been designed to support pupils thinking critically, rethinking comfortably and communicating effectively in an increasingly opinionated world. With two parallel courses adapted for students in Years 5/6 and Years 7/8, teachers gain full access to:

To use the resources, pupils will need to read WHAT DO YOU THINK? (either in class or at home). Through the sessions, they will learn how to think critically, how to spot fake news and how to communicate effectively and confidently.

The PiXL Club collaborates with school leaders nationwide to share new ideas and deliver support in order to improve the results of GSCE students across the country. With more than 650 schools in the programme, PiXL needed a central platform where it could share ideas, as well as media content and best practice tips with a large number of people.

PiXL offers its members a two-dimensional support system: there are meetings that the head teachers and deputy heads (Raising Standards Leaders) can attend and digital resources available online. PiXL shares a huge digital library online containing best practice tips, motivational presentations, animations, MP3 recordings, and analysis tools. With such a large archive, it was essential they had an easy-to-use collaboration platform with a large amount of storage.

PiXL carried out some in depth research into the market and the collaboration tools available. Huddle ticked all the boxes. It offers a secure cloud-based collaboration platform, providing the large amount of storage that PiXL required, without having to deploy any additional hardware.

With so many team members visiting hundreds of different schools across the country, mobile access was incredibly important to PiXL. Staff needed to be able to get all the documents they required from one central location both inside and outside the office.

On this page I have added some PiXL resources to help support your remote learning whether you are at home or in the classroom. I have included Maths, Reading and GPS. Sometimes I might direct you to this page as part of one of our daily lessons. You can have a look through the activities and worksheets to see if there are any that will help you or that you can have a go at as an extra challenge if you finish your work early. The reading comprehensions are particularly useful for you to have a go at whilst working from home.
