Dear PTA members,
Greetings from GBMS!
We have been deliberating at changing the school shoes for our students and scouting for different brands catering to schools.
We have zeroed in on Nike as they have a special brand catering only to schools. Most good schools in South Mumbai have opted for this brand.
The features and prices are as under:
1. Velcro Black Nike Shoes for Preschool (sizes 8c to 13c) Cost : Rs 1200/-
2. Laced Black Nike Shoes for Primary and Secondary
- Unisex shoes for girls and boys
- Smaller sizes: Cost Rs 1450/-
- 7US to 13 US sizes: Cost Rs 1550/-
Benefits to Students:
- One single shoe to be worn by students on all the five days of the week. No change of shoes as per PE or non-PE days. Leads to standardization and better discipline.
- All seasons- can be worn throughout the year even during the monsoons
- Available in all sizes- small to big
- The shoes are durable and can be worn over one to two years by students (depending on growth of the foot size)
- Vendor will sell the shoes on the school premises on scheduled days of the year. Parents do not need to go to different locations as it is available at school.
- Internationally acclaimed multipurpose, lightweight school shoe specifically designed for 8 hours wear day
Concern areas:
- Cost of the shoes as compared to the ones that are to be worn now (However if you add up the cost of two separate shoes as well as cost of wear
and tear of the shoes over the year- the difference may not amount to much)
Request to PTA representatives:
- Please forward this information to all your respective class parents and get their consensus for the same. (Grades 1 to 9)
- Give me your feedback by tomorrow via email
Since the Sports Day is around the corner (Monday 13th Jan), most parents buy new pair of shoes around this time. We thought that we could make this facility available to the parents from now itself.
But for that we would need parent approval by tomorrow latest so that we can get the measurements done by tues and wed and delivery of shoes by Friday.
Alternatively, we can discuss this in the upcoming PTA meeting and defer it for the new Academic Year.
Warm Regards
Deepa Shetty
