If you look around that area there like 4 bodies, anyway this is not important, what is important is the fact that i'm pretty sure i got the right pistol, the name of the pistol is even "Missing Laser Pistol" and hell its even a quest item i cant drop it or sell it, but at least i realized why the pistol was so hard to find : i used grenade lauch. + some other explo. to kill the radscorp. and probably the explosions threw the pistol away from the rock.
Hardly a spoiler given that the OP already explained the quest and thus asked for help to which I provided - No one forced you to look at the thread or continue reading the thread, so please avoid such comments.
If you have the right pistol and the Quatermaster won't take it from you then I think you may of encountered a bug, have you tried talking the quatermaster through and asking her about the situation again (if that's possible, do so). Else best I can suggest is do some other quests such as the BoS main quest (which will end up altering the quatermaster in a sense which should knock her out of the bug sequence so to speak). Just a thought.
I have assaulters with combat shield and a laser pistol, the laser battery does not show up in my quick reload box so I tried to add the battery to my pistol in equipment view. Still a no go, so I thought it may be because I had a shield in my hand so I put that on the ground. When I done this my laser pistol dissapeared.
Besides a few props there were not very many attempts at the laser pistol. Most people make the laser rifle and skip the pistol (who can blame them). 3D printing a rifle is a bit much for me, so a pistol is the logical step down. First the 3D model was made in Solidworks. I didnt just want it to be a simple model that only looked like a laser pistol, so I added a functioning magazine and a laser.
This model was split into 16 separate parts. The energy cells were not designed by me, there was already someone who took the effort to design them and they worked like a charm. Next step was to print all the parts and a few magazines (sorry no pictures). Around 40 hours of printing on my UP! later I was left with a bunch of PLA plastic parts.
I am incredibly pleased with the results. With the Pip-Boy I was still figuring out how to properly paint and weather 3D printed models. With the experience from the Pip-Boy I was able to make it just the way I wanted. I think it looks just like the one from the game. The laser works and the magazine is a very nice addition to an otherwise plain design.
Edit 28-09-15: There have been people who have had a hard time printing the muzzle part of the pistol. If you want, you can try a split version. It has no mounting notches and holes, but it is split so it has next to no support material. Click here to download the split version of the muzzle.
Hi, Dragonator, I am In the process of 3D printing your amazing model, and I was wondering if you could put togeather a quick video of how you wired your gun, that would be great. A fritzing file would also be nice
Attempting to build it and have all of the body ready for assembly. I have holes for and no idea what they are for. Specifically the three on the back plate. Only one has access from another part so what are the other two for
The Soviet laser pistol was a prototype handgun-shaped energy weapon designed for use by cosmonauts in a low or zero-gravity environment that renders conventional firearms ineffective. The weapon was magazine fed and used pyrotechnic flashbulb technology to project its beam.[2][3] One variation of the gun was a six-shot laser revolver.[4]
With the development of the Space Shuttle, the Soviets began to worry that the US would be able to snatch satellites from orbit and carry them back to Earth. This fear prompted the development of the laser gun.[5]
The weapons were designed to either disable optical sensors on enemy spacecraft or to flash-blind enemy astronauts when engaged in an orbital combat aboard or out of spacecraft. The last scenario was considered implausible, however, and the gun had no deadly force.[5] Its energy output was sufficient to inflict damage on optical devices and cause eye injuries.[4]
In addition to these mounted lasers, we offer premium trigger guard lasers and internal lasers. We also offer accessories, replacement batteries, and other replacement parts. These lasers are compatible with numerous firearms. If you have any questions, learn more in our blog or contact us.
Im on HARD mode with the laser pistol and everything is going fine and all, but the laser pistol isn't as great as previously thought. Takes 2-3 shots to kill a feral... People are saying it is like 1 hit kill with just about everything, but that is BS. Smogs take around 4-5 hits, Lurkers are the only 1 shot-kill i have found. Is this normal or is my laser pistol nerfed somehow?
No, that's quite normal. But the best feature of the laser pistol is the staggering effect. It takes 8-10 hits to kill a siam, but thanks to the staggering, it can't even come close to you. Same with the bosses, if you keep your range, the can't touch you.
Mine doesn't always shoot either but it always will after a few tries. I just beat Hard using it and I used a total of 2 Health Drinks, 0 Med Packs & 0 Serums (so I was on the starting health level). I got hit 0 times in all the boss fights and was hit about twice in the whole game . Long story short, the Laser Pistol is the best weapon in the game (infinite ammo = godsent).
I have a question regarding the laser pistol actually. I got it in the normal place, the bedroom, & have had it equipped all the time since I got it (except parts I was required to equip something else for storyline purposes) & not once has it ever fired. I am now close to the church with the plates puzzle & it still has not ever fired once... After a while I just stopped trying to use it & am killing through the normal way or with the circular saw. Anyway, what's going on? It's never fired... is this a bug? I've reloaded my game a few times & still nothing, no firing at all.
The laser pistol makes the game so easy. It might as well be one hit because most of the beasts are stunned and get no where near once u hit them once. The ferals are in fact the hardest enemy once u get the laser pistol simply due to their speed. Bosses are made really easy too.
I did have a minor issue with it when trying to fire directly after a cutscene. I had to release the left trigger and immediately pull it again. I've come to expect it now, so I automatically do this now that I'm on my second time through.
For the record Siams are stunned by any firearm. Yes the laser pistol takes a few more shots, but you save so much time not collecting ammo/guns. By far the best part about the laser pistol is unlimited ammo.
The Laser Pistol is awesome mainly for its unlimited ammo. One of my biggest gripes with the first playthrough was having to conserve ammo for certain instances (Smogs, Schisms, etc). It doesn't matter that the Laser Pistol takes a few shots to kill something, it completely takes the guesswork out of enemy encounters. Instead of struggling to get behind a Siam or a Needler, bang-bang-dead every time.
It is true, the laser pistol isn't a one hit killer, but it is still powerful. The longest boss battle I had on my run through with it, was about 2 minutes, give or take. Plus the infinite ammo is nice.
With the laser pistol, the only enemies that I was able to 1 hit kill were the Needlers (shoot them in the head) and Curtis in the underground lair. Other than that, squeeze the trigger quick and repeatedly and most enemies should be dead in about 2 seconds, even Siams.
Safe, effective, and innovative, the Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger (SIRT) Training Pistol was developed by shooters for shooters, to complement, not replace, live fire training. The SIRT Training Pistol brings together a host of patent pending technologies critical to improving shooting accuracy while addressing issues of cost and liability.
The SIRT110 is a wonderful training pistol. Combined with the LASR-X software I am able to train at home, at my leisure. I like the fact that I can get in reps to develop the muscle memory and familiarity with the pistol, and train in ways that I cannot at my local range. For example, practice drawing, moving, and engaging multiple targets. I use a GLOCK sports holster and have not had any issues breaking off the front sight on my SIRT110.
Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase. For those of you considering a SIRT for your own personal training, I suggest that you do not spend the extra money for the take up laser. I was not sure when I bought mine and subsequently found that I do not need it. Mostly use it to play with my cats. Anyway, if you are an instructor, it might make sense to get it.
I have the SIRT 110 model. The gun is truly great, and helps with accuracy very much. I do wish that they would make a Ar-15 model and not just the bolt for the AR-15 to train my son how to operate one.
Awesome training pistol. Use frequently to practice dry fire, trigger pull, draw strokes. Laser is off slightly, wish it was aligned before shipment, but no complaints after year of use. Excellent tool to help us train safely under otherwise stressful (but controlled) conditions. Highly recommend, thank you!
I did make one modification to my SIRT. I painted the sights white. They are normally black and my aging eyes had trouble with sighting under diminished light conditions. That made a world of difference.
