Hi guys!

You all know that this week the session is cancelled because we don't
have the place to be.... next week we are again colliding with Optics
club.... it seems like they want to terminate us :)
Anyhow, I suggest to choose another day in the week so we can avoid
that kind of problems.
I warmly suggest Monday, because there is usually nothing
happening ...

We decided to expand our sessions and do few book-sessions.... We all
have to choose a book that we will read, buy and leave in the CRI
library. To do the book list, we decided to use this google group. I
will open new discussion just for that.

Concerning speakers, I will try to invite Agnes Ullmann.... she is
very nice old lady who worked with Monod on Lac operon. I think it
would be great to have here there!

But in general, I think our genome club became a bit sleepy lately....
so we should try to do something else! !
Ideas? David, what about Genoscope?

Cheers,
Nina600

Yeah, let's pimp our club !!!

Next meeting will be next monday ? for me it's better, is it ok for everyone ?
To reinforce club spirit, I invite all of you , to come to my place after the session, and celebrate week's beginning.

For the book, I have no idea on what book I can choose, so I will go with someone who has idea.

Cheers.

I started reading the music of life and it's quite easy to read
I read the wonderful life by Jay Gould not so long ago. It's interesting but a big part of the book is really descriptive (and I have to admit, a little bit boring for me). But the first and the 2 last chapters are really worth reading

ok for next monday too

Monday is ok for me too!
I would read one of the following which I own a copy of:

Red Queen
Triple Helix
The Misunderstood gene
Microcosmos

or the ones there is probably a copy of in the CRI library:

Genome
Selfish gene

let me know if anyone is interested in any of these....
