Hi everybody, how are you?
After month of unmotivation, I decide
to take one day, and organise the previous information of the club. Put
everything on the moodle in a nice way to read and navigate. And oblige
myself to do a presentation for the first meeting of the year.
So I hope I prepare everything for a reborn of the club!!!
First:
I decide to do a session on Wednesday 2d of December, on analysis of
biological newtorks, and application on gene regulatory networks
analysis. this presentation will be based on the classical nature
review paper of barabasi:
http://gb-cri.googlegroups.com/web/Network+biology+-+Barabasi+-+Nature+review.pdf?gda=ps85a18AAADmhGICQH99tEEmvGDjVqgpdTeFs4hWEOupDvBpV12WlsHDaabZaJKrxOjS2h7ZlpS0D5o0N1yPn2USHjGydbgIq4-lUHgt4xg4NgyN8EACT1p19fG4dyaGqu7nyWhUSJM
and gene regulatory networks analysis of E. Coli by Uri alon et al.
Some of you surely already know about those two classical papers.
If
I organize this session who will be there ??? Answer quickly, to know
if we will be at least 5. Then after I will post on general moodle
forum to make advertise and recruit new people for the club!
Second:
Who will oblige himself to present in the second and third session ???
For the record here is the paper we suggest on September for possible
next session:
•Mackay et al., Nature Reviews Genetics, 2009, « The genetics of quantitative traits: challenges and prospects »
•Siomi et al.
Nature, 2009; On the road to
reading the RNA-interference code
•Fullwood MJ et
al., Genome Res., 2009, “Next-generation DNA
sequencing of paired-end tags (PET) for transcriptome and genome analyses”.
•Raj A, van Oudenaarden A., Annu Rev Biophys., 2009, “Single-molecule
approaches to stochastic gene expression”.
…Third: You can find everything now in the CRI moodle here:
http://www.moodle-cri.org/course/view.php?id=16
In the futur we will only use this portal for communication so please
everyone, do what is needed to be done, to receive all the message from
the genome club moodle!
In
the description of past and futur sessions I still need a lot of pdf
and abstract. I already ask for it a lot, but now I have names of
incriminate people, so beware, my revenge will be terrible if you don't
send stuff to me hahahahaha...
I just ask you to send me the pdf of your presentation, and 3 sentences
describing your talk (come on it will only take you 10 minutes, of
course you have time to do this!). If you are in a good day you can
also send me 2 or 3 papers related to your presentation.
So the nominate are:
Tamara:
I know you already did the work and send it to Nina, but I think she
lost it (Nina?). So can you send it again to me? I need stuff about
your presentation on
Philogeny and molecular evolution Nicolas: I need your presentation and abstract on:
- Viruses-
Cell reprogramming
Nina: I need presentation and abstract on:
- Non-coding part of the genome- ENCODE Project (in fact i don't remember if you did this presentation ?)
Julien & Kevin: I need your presentation and abstract on
Epigenetics reviewKevin: What about Agnes Ullmann seminar video ?
Felipe: I need the up to date version of your presentation on
SNP and the corresponding abstract.
Evan: I need your presentation and abstract on
Review of methods for modeling gene regulatory networkSend
everything to my email adress, and as I'm a nice person, I will put
everything on the moodle, you won't have to do something there. (Just
check if I didn't do mistakes)
Four:
I think this part will really interest some of you. In July, the FDV
give me money for the club to pay back for drink and food. Here is the
list of people who spend money for the club
http://www.moodle-cri.org/file.php/16/moddata/data/15/49/143/Finance_GBC.pdf. This money is now in my possesion so Julien, Nina, Nicolas and David, next time ask to me to give you back your money!
I think I've sayed everything: I declare the year 2009/2010 of the genome club open!!!
See you soon
Christophe
