Real estate exams are administered by PSI, a private company. Exams appointments are available on a first come, first served basis. Most students are able to schedule exams about one week in advance. The PSI Minnesota real estate exam should be taken after completion of Course 1 and our optional exam prep course.
On the day of the examination, you should arrive 30 minutes before your appointment. This extra time is for sign-in, identification, and familiarizing yourself with the examination process. If you arrive late, you may not be admitted to the examination site and you will forfeit your examination registration fee.
For security and identification purposes, all candidates will have their fingerprint taken during the examination check-in. The taking of the fingerprint is an additional measure to enhance examination security.
All personal belongings, with the exception of close-fitting jackets or sweatshirts, should be placed in the secure storage provided at each site prior to entering the examination room. Personal belongings include electronic devices of any type, bulky or loose clothing or coats, hats or headgear not worn for religious purposes, backpacks, briefcases, purses, and wallets. No notebooks, pens, pencils, food, drink, or good luck items are allowed.
You must provide 2 forms of identification. One must be a VALID form of government-issued identification (Driver's License, State ID, or Passport) which bears your signature and has your photograph. The second ID must have your signature and preprinted legal name. All identification provided must match the name on the registration form and your Course 1 Completion Certificate Examination Eligibility Certificate. You must bring your Course 1 Completion Certificate to the exam site.
Exam registration is required to schedule retake exams. Candidates who pass one (1) portion of the examination and fail the other need to retake only the section they failed. Candidates do not need to retake the entire combined exam.

Kaplan now offers virtual classroom proctoring for many of our courses via our virtual classroom in the Learning Management System (LMS). To enroll in a proctoring session, you must meet all course requirements first:
After completing your course, please refer to the course-completion instructions for information on how to schedule a proctoring session in Kaplan's virtual classroom for a date and time that works for you, but is also within your course's access period. Your access period can be found within the Learning Management System (LMS) under each course on your home page. Students who enroll in a Virtual Classroom Proctoring session prior to completing will have that session cancelled, will not be refunded their registration fee, and will need to re-enroll in a session once the course is complete.
Upon scheduling the session, students will receive an order confirmation email and a second email with access instructions. Students will also receive class confirmation/reminder emails closer to their scheduled proctored date. Exams will be proctored in our virtual classroom, which students access via the LMS.
Live Online students will receive an exam password from their instructor at the end of their course (this does not apply to Texas students). This password must be used to access the exam. This password must be entered in the presence of the proctor each time the exam is attempted.
