It looks like the manual has been updated (especially at the end)
since I last read through it. I would be much more likely to stay on
top of manual updates if there were a Wikipedia-like diff view, or at
the very least a changelog summarizing what sections had been updated.

Catherine,

The manual is in source control, so you can use git to track changes in it.  On the web you can visit this URL to see changes since February:

http://repo.or.cz/w/gazelle.git?a=blobdiff;f=docs/manual.txt;fp=docs/manual.txt;hb=67a331c5f2f1d9766e8f332159e08e77de685aa8;hpb=a7441291493bc0ac08089bc961d35a1141c89329

Or you can visit this URL to view a diff between arbitrary revisions (choose "base" and then "diff" for the two revisions you want to diff):
http://repo.or.cz/w/gazelle.git?a=history;f=docs/manual.txt;h=081df658e8e63dd7202f234a683fcd3752081736;hb=HEAD

I would have posted links to github, but for all their bling they don't appear to support diffs of this type.

Actually, if what you want is to *watch* changes to the manual as they
happen, you can subscribe to this RSS feed, which will show all
changes in the "docs" directory:

http://github.com/feeds/haberman/commits/gazelle/master/docs

Perfect! An RSS answers my needs exactly, because I can click through
the RSS item and view the diff. Thanks for pointing out the feeds.
