Updated July 10, 2023, by Rebecca Timberlake: Trying to save your borrowed funds while turning a decent profit in Farming Simulator 22 is easier said than done, but if you find yourself exhausting the obvious money-making schemes (or unable to execute them depending on your farm), there are a few more ways that can help stretch your dollar through the season.

You might be able to acquire a farm with crops already growing on the land. If you can do this, you'll start with a shorter timetable on crops, which in turn allows you to gain a complete profit at the very start of your farming adventure.

If you have purchased equipment and find you don't need it anymore, you can always sell it. Although selling your used tractors and machinery won't get you back what you spent, it will free up space on your farm for something you do need while getting you at least a fraction of your cash back.

To avoid employees signing off on major purchases, change their settings to limit their AI. This is an important step even if you aren't just starting out or low on funds because they continue to work and incur expenses even without you in-game.

While it's a no-brainer that a farm needs animals as much as it needs crops, not all animals are created equal. Since you can start up your own manufacturing in Farming Simulator 22 and effectively cut out the middle man, having animals around that you can use for your fabric and textile business is a must.

Collecting wool from the sheep is just as lucrative as cotton in the clothing world, especially if you get it up and running before winter hits. There are a few ways to keep the sheep on your farm, but if you have it in the budget to build them a barn, they'll breed - producing more sources of wool in the long run for less upfront fees.

Probably the most important crop you can grow on your farm, cotton should be in your top ten list of priorities when setting out. Cotton is extremely valuable as it becomes clothing, fabric, and other types of textiles.

In Farming Simulator 22 you can control your own supply chain, effectively cutting out any middlemen and maximizing your personal profit. This is helpful with all areas of your farm, but the best use is with your cotton crops, as you can process it yourself to sell, and there will always be a demand for clothing.

Overall, there are 16 crops to choose from, but three food crops are especially profitable - potatoes, canola, and soybeans. Potatoes require the least effort, but if you plan to grow primarily grains, canola is the best of the three.

There are beef cows and dairy cows, giving you two avenues for profit, as well as selling them off and using their manure like the pigs. All animals will breed once you have two of a kind that can mate, so the expense is really a one-time thing for each species.

It may seem like a stupid question as it seems obvious that harvesting would be the quickest way to get rich. However I've noticed that it takes AGES to go through the whole ploughing, cultivating, seeding, harvesting process.

It seems to me that doing those simple side missions is quicker. They take around 4 mins to do and just 2 mins to pop on screen. I've been getting between 8-10k per mission. So it seems to me that 6-8 mins getting 8-10k a time is quicker than harvesting. Any thoughts?

After playing a few hours today I've kind of answered my own question. I bought a solar panel, 6 beehives and 3 greenhouses. I'm getting 1.5k every game hour from those. I've been doing nothing but side missions for 2 hours and have 240k from this method alone. I plan to get a wind turbine wen I have $1.2 million and that will give another 4k per hour. Can't get close to this kind of income when farming.

A way I've done it is buy a mower; front and back, a forage and plant a field with grass. If you can take more out on your loan, buy the field next to the biogas its around 54k. Set the time to 120x to make it grow faster, chop it and dump it in the silage pits at the biogas. You'll need a front loader. I was getting roughly 8,000 per 3,000L. If you fill the cheapest forage, you'll get think about 36-40k. You'll be making money in no time.

Edit- you'll need a windower to make it easier to get into the forage. If the game works like the PC when you can afford the huge mower at 300k or whatever it is. It automatically puts it in to lines for you saving you on time.

Once you've planted your grass, make it so the speed is 120x. You may need to take more out on your loan. Just take as much needed. Do this a couple of times until you have 54k and buy field 6. If you keep the first trailer sell all that's in your storage also.

yeah, wind turbines are the best way. Start with solar panels if u dont have enough for a turbine then when u have enough start buying turbines. Once u have a few of those sell the panels. I have 31 turbines right now and i get 120+k per in game hour (30secs real time at 120x speed).

Just that long grind on the crops now with no money worries at all, and of course the kilometers driven related ones which should stack up nicely in the process of securing the actual farming achievements.

I just found this out by accident.. Fill bail loader with square bails back it into the shed and then reset it... all the bails fall into the shed giving you cash and it respawns filled with bails again .. then just go hook up to the filled bail loader again and repeat

Money plays an important role in the game, as players need to earn lots of it to finance new machines and supplies that allow them to perform additional tasks. Several Achievements involve reaching financial milestones as well. Wouldn't it be nice if you could jump ahead a little, get all the money you need, and then just focus on whichever tasks you like without the bill collectors looming over?

Note that this strategy involves leaving your Xbox One or other console of choice on for several hours at a time while you build up your fortune. You'll want to use a wired controller (such as the Xbox One Mini Series controller) or plug a wireless one into the console in order to prevent the controller from powering off and interrupting the game. Don't worry, the effort (and electricity) will pay off!

The strategy works on either of the game's maps and any difficulty setting. You don't have to start a new game to do it; all you need is $125,000 (earned or borrowed) to get started. Still, for the sake of this guide we'll start from the beginning.

Start a new game. Select the map and difficulty of your choice. In our video, we go with Bjornholm on Easy. Once the game begins, press left or right on the d-pad to hop between tractors until you land in the one located closest to the shop. Drive it right up to the entrance for maximum convenience.

At the shop, head to the ATM. You'll find it to the left of the shop entrance on either map. Now withdraw money until you have at least $125,000. You could also get this money quickly by selling tractors, but that takes longer. Plus you'll want to keep one tractor at the shop so that you can warp to it whenever you resume your save file.

With $125,000 in hand, return to the shop front (a basket icon) and find the Placeables section in the top-right corner of the menu. Buy a Solar Collector and place it somewhere nearby that won't interfere with future farming activities. Solar Collectors generate $380 every in-game hour and require no supervision or maintenance.

Now we game the system a bit by pausing and accessing the Settings menu. Turn the Timescale up to 120x to make time accelerate faster in-game. Also switch Plant growth and plant withering off so that everything doesn't run amok during your journey into the deep future. Save your game and exit the menu.

At 120x, every 30 seconds of real-time equate to one in-game hour. Thus, your new Solar Collector brings in $760 per minute without you having to do anything. That's helpful, but it's not enough. We want to buy five or so Solar Collectors to get the money train rolling.

Factoring in your farm's expenses, it should take about three hours to reach $125,000 again so you can buy your second solar panel. Just leave the game running with the screen off while you wait. Or you could set out and collect all of the hidden gold coins. The advanced timescale won't interfere with your searches, and you can get three Achievements if you find them all.

Return and buy a second solar panel, placing it next to the first. Now you're making $1,520 every minute! It should only take 90 minutes to afford a third Solar Collector. Keep checking back and buying panels until you have five or so panels.

With five solar panels producing $1,900 per half minute, it will take about six hours to afford a windmill. During this time, you should get the 'Noveau Rich' Achievement (have one million dollars) and 'Longplayer' (play for over 10 hours).

Come back and buy your first Wind Energy converter from the Placeables section of the shop. Combined with your five solar panels, you should now be making $11,800 per minute. It should take about two hours to earn another $1,200,000 and buy your next windmill. Repeat the process until you have five Wind Energy Converters.

Once you have five windmills, it's time to let the game idle until you earn ten million dollars. With five solar panels and windmills, you should be making $43,800 per minute. It will only take 2.5 hours to hit ten million! This gets you the $5 million Achievement and 'Pots of Gold' (ten million dollars).

Now that you're filthy stinking rich feel free to buy all of the best vehicles and equipment in the store. Better tractors drive faster, nicer trailers carry more cargo, etc. The sky is practically the limit. Turn the timescale and plant growth back to normal when you're ready to resume normal farming. Whenever you want to farm money instead of crops, just set time to fast-forward again.
