Hello Gayhead Families,
Tomorrow, March 5th, Mr. Thomas Grimes, a 20-year veteran of the N.Y. City Police Department, will be providing a program for parents only regarding internet awareness at Wappingers Junior High School at 7:00pm.
Topics cover sexual predators, cyber bullying, identity theft, sexting, long term repercussions and more. Mr. Grimes tailors his presentations to his audience and the evening program is not appropriate for students. We would like to issue an invitation to parents from across the district to join us for this worthwhile program.
For whatever it’s worth, I attended a previous public seminar by Mr. Grimes on internet awareness and it was well worth it!
Tomorrow and Wednesday our Citizen of the Month breakfasts will be held for students nominated for the first 4 traits. Invitations were sent out and we are looking forward to our special breakfast celebrations. Thank you for the continued support of this program! Contact me with any questions or concerns.
The book fair will be set up in the small cafeteria March 6, 7 & 8 from 9am - 5pm. The evening Book Fair session and end-of-PARP Family Night is Friday, March 8th, from 6 - 8pm. Please look for a note to come home from your child's teachers letting you know which day they will be attending.
Our 3rd annual Week of Wellness will be held March 8-15. To kick off the week, Holistic Health Coach and Nutritionist, Alyson Chugerman, will be providing sample smoothies at the PARP Family Night on March 8 from 6PM-8PM.
Finally, our March PTA meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 13th at 7:00 pm in the small cafeteria. Please note this is a change from the original date.
Have a great week!
Mr. Seipp
