Taking in a glance
for less than 30 seconds
butterflies erupt
in the pit of this stomach

There is friction
turmoil beneath the surface
can hardly deny
what is happening inside

As he looks down
the stranger looks up
processing
the wayward attraction

Hardly any words spoken
very little interaction
but at the glandular level
molecules dance in a frenzy

Transaction over
he exchanges pleasantries
yet another piece of honesty
curls up and silently dies
