SURVEY/INTERVIEW REQ:Student Newspaper in Texas...

I am the editor of the yearbook for a school in Corpus Christi, Texas,
making this request for a cowardly feature writer on our paper. =)

Our center spread (main feature) for the upcoming issue is teenage
homosexuality. We need several stories from teens about what it is like to
exist in today's world being gay. If you would like to just mail your
personal story (absolutely *NO* real names will be used. In fact, at the
top, submit an alias for yourself, in the form of a name and surname.) to
me at <akn...@trip.net> or, if you're lost as to what to write, simply
write me that you would like to participate and I'll contact you with some
questions. In either case, we'd like to know a little about you:

Age
Sex
Gay/Lesb./Bi.
General Location (city/state)
If you have, "come out," and approx. when
Any stories you have, like who helped, what it was like, any tidbits.

I might be able to arrage with the editor to post the article(s) here or
mail it to those intrested.

I appriciate the time you took to read this, and, hopefully, respond to it! =)

AVERT, a UK organisation dealing with HIV/AIDS education, has done some
research on gay teenagers and produced leaflets etc specifically about
the issues they face re coming out eg at school and to family.
Obviously, the material is based on the UK, but it might still be of
interest. There's a link to the AVERT site from the URL below.
