We are writing to let you know that the Seventh National
Conference on Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Health will take place
this October at Ruskin College, Oxford. The registration fee
will be Ł50 for organisations and Ł35/Ł20 for individuals.
The conference will be a major event, of interest to lesbians,
gay men and bisexuals who are personally or professionally
interested in developing a healthier lifestyle.
We define "health" as widely as possible, to include all aspects
of physical, mental and social wellbeing. The topics at the last
conference included drug and alcohol use, suicide, HIV/AIDS,
separate themes on women's and men's health issues, mental
health, bereavement, statutory health provision, the health
needs of young lesbian, gay and bisexual people, alternative
therapies, etc.
Research and current practice
The conference has two main strands as it provides an
opportunity to:
publicise the wide range of research being undertaken
in Britain and internationally on lesbian, gay and
bisexual health
present current work and approaches through workshops
and seminars.
Invitation to participate
The purpose of this letter is to:
ask you to note the date in your diary and to ask you
also to inform other lesbian, gay and bisexual colleagues
invite you to participate in the Conference either by
presenting research or by offering a workshop or seminar.
We are able to offer presenters and facilitators reasonable
travelling expenses and a free place at the conference.
As we need to draw up a programme and allocate space soon, we
would be grateful if you could submit your proposals by 20 May 1996
If you would like an application form to attend the conference or if you
would like
to present research or run a workshop write to:
