Mr. George:
You are homophobic. I know that you resent the use of that term. But
there isn't anything that better
describes your views.
There may a cure for you. It would be if your son were to turn out to be
gay. What a horrible thing
that would be for your child however. Who do you think would be the last
to know about it? It
would be you Mr. George. It would be you because your son would be
frightened to ever have you
find out. He most likely would spend years afraid and hiding not only
from you but from himself.
What a terrible thing for a son to go through.
If your son should be gay, you can count on the fact that he will hide
in the sickest places, because
that is the only alternative that you are at this moment giving him. He
will grow up sexually, in secret,
away from you. He will never experience love in his relationships, only
sex. He will be in the same
closet that you want all gays to be in. He will stay there until it
suffocates him. He will come to hate
you. He may not even know why because he cannot even begin to look at
the ugliness that you tell
him, in all kinds of ways, he is. No, you will not be able to "cure"
him. You might be able to turn him
into a eunuch. A non-feeling, non-touching, non-sexual eunuch.
Your idea of gay is filled with misconceptions and cliches. You probably
will surround your son with
sports gear and make certain that he hangs out with real men. But that
will not take his sexuality
away from him. Whether he be straight or gay. your son will sexually be
what he already is. That
thought must frighten you. Have the courage to not be afraid.
Your view of sexuality is simplistic and lacks reality.
Love your son Mr. George. Most likely he will be a man just like you.
But love him under any
circumstances. A good father loves his child. A child needs a father he
can always turn to for love. In
return he will give you honesty and communication.
Don't be afraid. Don't let others make you afraid. Face the truth of
life, not the cliches of what you
think it is or want it to be.
From what you wrote, you obviously have your own sexual issues that you
are dealing with. Grow
up!
"Good fathers are good men?" Get a grip man. A real father and man
doesn't have to put a sign up
and post it on the internet announcing it to the world.
I don't know why I bothered. You have some serious problems sir. You
have hate in you that causes
great pain to others. What goes around comes around, Mr. George.
As you go about your Christmas festivities tonight and tomorrow, stop a
moment and give a thought
about the gay men and women who can't be home with their families on
this holiday.
Because their families have been taught that their own gay children are
ugly and sinners these gay
men and women (maybe someday, your son) will spend the time with others
like themselves if they
are lucky. Hopefully, they will not be alone with memories of the way it
used to be at the home they
are no longer welcome in. Deep inside these gay men and women love their
families. Their families
have abandoned them because evil others have mislead these families into
thinking that anyone who
is gay is sick and going to hell.
Now, Mr. George, take a good look at your son. Would you still love him
and welcome him back
into your home for Christmas if he should be gay?
Merry Christmas,
David
