Some years from now (maybe a hundred or more), the Anti-Gay Holocaust
will go on record as officially starting in 1996, once Prez Clinton
signed DOMA. If you are heterosexual, and consider yourself gay
friendly and progressively responsible: and don't know what I mean by
DOMA...well, all I can say is "shame on you".

The Defense of Marriage Act was signed into Federal law by Bill
Clinton. Essentially, this opened the door to establishing sexual
minorities as second-class citizens in perpetuity. For who needs
defending, and who are the threats? DOMA proclaims that no state of
this nation is obliged to recognize a same-sex marriage performed in
any other state. So we are essentially saying that heteros need to be
defended against homosexuals!

Just as Hitler in his early years of tyranny, declared homosexuals (and
other marginalized groups) a poison on the German culture. Now, we are
declared a poison on hetero Amerikan family values. All boils down to
the same thing:

Holocaust II

But the tables will turn in favor of LGBTs and their allies, after
approx. 2-1/2 years of global holocaust...targeting queers first to
make society more vulnerable (as even the good liberal heteros continue
to ignore our plight). Look to gay rights for the key to world peace.
Look to gay marriage (not domestic partner, civil union, or any other
phrase minus the word "gay" and the word "marriage").

Roll up your sleeves and fight alongside your gay brothers and sisters:
for the only way to victory in the name of all that's good and
righteous, is through the LGBT platform. Strike down homophobia
wherever it may arise. For only then can the seeds of peace be planted,
by providing soil free of harmful ideological bacteria, especially
violent machismo. Make gay bashing and all other anti-gay bigotry
inexcusable and punishable by law, and you also make a strong case
against promoting the "real man = gay basher" syndrome.

It is my conclusion after years of being a most thoughtful and
dedicated gay activist, that resolving homophobia on this planet for
once and for all, is the cornerstone to genuine world peace and
individual freedom. It is a psychic virus that has crippled the human
race ever since Cain slew Abel. It is time to rid our species of any
negative notion (not just violence) one may have towards another,
simply for not being heterosexual.

I wouldn't be too hard on Clinton until you know what his motives
were. While DOMA should be repealed eventually, if it cut the
pressure to pass a constitutional amendment, that is useful: once
social attitudes change - and they will - it will be far easier to
throw out an undesirable law than to undo a mistake that made it into
the U.S. Constitution.

What DOMA really says is that states can have their own policy
regarding same-sex marriages and whether to recognize those or not.
This gives the "red states" - the ones populated by reactionaries who
are scared of their own shadow - a "security blanket" until they
mature enough to realize that the monsters under the bed are merely
figments of their overactive imaginations.

When we reach a point where just under 2/3 of the states agree that
same-sex marriages are OK and should be valid everywhere, it will
be trivial to repeal DOMA, but difficult to impossible to repeal
a constitutional amendment. So the most important thing to do right
now is to defend the U.S. Constitution from those who want to turn
the U.S. into a full-blown theocracy.

Do you really think I haven't bothered to look into that, before
posting my conclusions?

No thanks to dimwit Clinton-apologists such as yourself, I'm sure! DOMA
should NEVER have been signed in the first place.

It didn't. That is simply the rationale of centrist democrats and
limousine liberals...who pretend to be free of homophobia, while
tossing our queer fate over to right-wing wolves.

Sadly, many queerfolk prefer to believe that Clinton signing DOMA was
actually to spare us an even WORSE fate. I call them "apologists". YOU
are an apologist.

Can you say "Neville Chamberlain"? Quote:

http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/PRchamberlain.htm

"Chamberlain believed that Germany had been badly treated by the Allies
after it was defeated in the First World War. He therefore thought that
the German government had genuine grievances and that these needed to
be addressed. He also thought that by agreeing to some of the demands
being made by Adolf Hitler of Germany and Benito Mussolini of Italy, he
could avoid a European war."

That is not what DOMA "really says", except on the most superficial of
levels. It is pure bigotry cloaked as a reasonable law. In fact, it is
a willful imposition of religious dogma. It's just as vile as a law
that would, say, make it impermissible for any blacks to MARRY, period.
(I'm not even talking about marrying whites, but marrying other blacks,
or ANYONE for that matter).

Your spineless philosophy is to side on the sidelines while brave
soldiers like myself, fight on the frontlines...suffering ridicule and
ignorance by queer turncoats like yourself, whenever we visit Gay Mecca
for some R&R

Actually, it is your HarvyMilquetoast complacency that keeps looking
the other way as if no one were really in imminent danger. But we are,
Madge, we are...and I, like so many queers, cannot simply up and move
to a friendly society. The "reds" will not ever become mature enough to
accept gays...they are an evil lot, they are Nazis. All your attitude
does is hand them over as much time as they need, to plot even more
destructive scenarious in which queers are the main victim. Thanks for
nothing, dipwad!

Uh-huh. What a perverted rationale! Had Clinton REFUSED to sign DOMA,
there would NOT have been any attempt to change the constitution in
reaction. In fact, the passing of DOMA gave much EMPOWERMENT to the
Fundies...who now feel brazen enough to run roughshod over LGBT rights.

Why fight for a homophobic nation? Even the Democratic Party has taken
an official stand AGAINST gay marriage. That is simply religious dogma,
persecuting an innocent minority. We have NO party that truly supports
us.

We've been a theocracy all along; we're a hypocritical nation beyond
salvation. Our democratic ideals are nothing more than smoke and
mirrors.

We are at war, because hetero society has made this so. We don't have
the luxury to accommodate idlers like yourself, when our own brothers
and sisters are being bashed, terrorized, and on the verge of suffering
a national anti-gay holocaust...which will quickly turn global.

I want to form a new party, and call it: The Party of Athena. And
members shall be called "Athenians". And our constitution shall
comprise the BEST of all humane and progressive constitutions that have
come before. But with the special condition that our party first serves
the freedom and needs of all sexual minorities, before assisting any
other group (whether persecuted or not).

Yes - how would you know? Did you interview him? Clinton was by and
large a pragmatist. He'd often sign bills he wasn't happy with and
then work to fix them later, incrementally moving things in a more
reasonable direction.

This was a reasonable post, suggesting that he could have signed off
on DOMA for practical reasons (he can't, for instance, veto a
constitutional amendment, and if one passed it would be very difficult
to repeal - just look how long it took to get rid of Prohibition). If
there were enough votes to override a veto, all vetoing it would do
would be to give the homophobes in Congress something to scream about
loudly, with no change in the final outcome other than energizing a
lot of people none of us want energized.

To be blunt, not only are you being rude, but from what I can see
you are being a complete and utter idiot who lacks the ability to
engage in a civil discussion.

<long, meaningless rant snipped>.
