Lou Sheldon's Traditional Values Coalition ProposesAmending California
Constitution toDiscriminate against Lesbian and Gay Families

Dear Friend,
We have just learned that Lou Sheldon's Traditional Values Coalition
has plans to announce, at a press conference today, an effort to amend
California's Constitution to deny same-sex couples equal protection
under the law. Equality California Vice-President, Ron Oden (Mayor of
Palm Springs), other EQCA Board members and I plan to attend the press
conference, after which we will provide you with further details on
TVC's plans.
But there are three things you can do right now to ensure we are
prepared to defeat this hateful effort:
(1) Send an email through EQCA's California Advocacy Center to your
elected representatives urging them to immediately and publicly oppose
any attempt to write discrimination into the California Constitution.

(2) Make a donation by going to http://donate.eqca.org/renew to
support EQCA's work to defeat this--and all--efforts to deny equality
to LGBT Californians. If you have made a donation recently, thank you!
(3) Forward this email to everyone you know who opposes

Californians.

Too bad the web site is broken - some people have javascript turned off
and it doesn't work in that case. There is no reason to have to use
javascript merely to read a short blurb describing what's going on.
There have been some javascript-related security vulnerabilities in
some browsers, so there is a good reason to keep it turned off (and
eliminating popups is another.)
