Initially he wanted to wash his hands of th frustration. Now he plans
to wait a few months to see what other absurdities GDC can throw and
if he wants to pick it back up. The current beta works, so its more
of a feature-rich issue at this point.
FYI - Gnatter (java alpha) may update to handle the new encoding;
Chatlinq (mac/iphone beta) is still going strong; Chat Client
(vaporware) site went offline Sep 15th, the same day New GDC was
rolled out - so no idea what is up there.
