Anyway, the fascinating thing about this teaser, which runs barely a minute, is that I would have to presume that the entire trailer presents a sequence that is almost certainly a dream. Point being, spoiler alert for Divergent, Ashley Judd died at the end of the first film, and not in a "fall off a cliff into the water or get caught in an exploding building" kind of way. So this action-packed and fantastical sequence, which as Dorothy Pomerantz reminded me after I published might be one of those drug-induced tests that we saw a few times in the last movie, offers absolutely nothing about the film itself in any kind of "here's the new status quo" sense.

On one hand, that's a perfect teaser since it gives away nothing of substance from the film. On the other hand, it's a little odd to try to get a rise out of fans by showing off Tris's (Shailene Woodley) heroics in a situation that is almost certainly a dream or fantasy of some kind. It would be like the first Batman v Superman teaser showing a battle between Batman and Superman and then having Clark awaken at the last minute to show that really that's not what is going to happen in the movie. There is nothing "wrong" with the above teaser, but it's an unusual and interesting approach.

What's refreshing about the trailer is that it focuses entirely on Tris and her own struggles with the target of her concern being her late mother as opposed to the hot guy (Theo James) who quasi-romanced the last time around. The marketing could have included James in this teaser, but they chose not to which earns brownie points. Yes there will be other marketing materials that focus on romance, but it's nice when marketing for female-centric films such as this don't necessarily imply that the romantic entanglements are the main conflicts or even the main personal concerns of their female heroes. It's a minor note, but I felt like saying something positive.

As I noted a couple weeks ago, Shailene Woodley will be a much bigger star when Divergent Series: Insurgent opens on March 20th, 2015 in 2D and 3D from Lionsgate ( Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.) than she was when Divergent opened this past March. She is riding high on the box office and critical success of 20th Century Fox's The Fault in Our Stars and, if there is any justice, she will be an Oscar nominee by the time Divergent rounds its final marketing lap. Have I mentioned before that Lionsgate should co-fund the Oscar campaigns for Fault in Our Stars and Miles Teller's Whiplash along with Fox and Sony respectively? Yes, I think I have mentioned that before. But it's worth repeating, and not just because I think both films and respective actors deserve recognition.

Just as Jennifer Lawrence was able to follow The Hunger Games with an Oscar-winning turn in Silver Linings Playbook and thus turn her into an even bigger mega-star by the time Catching Fire came around, so too could Lionsgate greatly benefit from Woodley (and to a lesser extent Teller) spending the next few months doing the Oscar season press marathon, discreetly dropping references to the upcoming Insurgent as often as she mentions her hit romantic drama. Heck, The Fault of Our Stars actually make more worldwide ($304m) than Divergent ($288m), a "deficiency" that Lionsgate aims to rectify with the use of 3D conversions this time around. Point being, the best thing that could happen for the marketing for Insurgent, which is a sequel to a film that made a solid chunk-o-change without being beloved anywhere outside the hardcore fan base, is for this sequel to become more prestigious by virtue of starring two very recent young Oscar nominees alongside Oscar winners Octavia Spencer and Kate Winslet.

"I know you're angry Tris, but you're letting it consume you." If you're one of those fans who just can't wait for the arrival of The Divergent Series: Insurgent next month, the movie is a little bit more within reach as tickets are now on sale for the sci-fi sequel starring Shailene Woodley. And with that news also comes the final trailer for the film, showing that Tris (Woodley) is becoming consumed with anger, and she better get it in check if she's going to stay in control. Meanwhile, it looks like Ansel Elgort won't be offering help this time, despite being her brother, and Miles Teller may or may not be trustworthy. Watch!

Shailene Woodley totes several weapons in the two-minute trailer while co-star Theo James narrowly avoids a speeding train. The duo reprise their roles amid the ruins of a futuristic Chicago as fugitives on the run, hunted by the power-hungry Erudite elite, led by a chilly Kate Winslet.

A short-haired Shailene Woodley is back as Tris Prior, who along with ally and love interest Four (Theo James) goes on the run to fight against the power-hungry Erudite leader, Jeanine (Kate Winslet).

This new teaser also gives the first look at Daniel Dae Kim ("Hawaii Five-0") and Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer as the leaders of Candor and Amity, two of the other factions in the series' post-apocalyptic Chicago setting.

"Insurgent" -- the second in a planned four-film series based on Veronica Roth's "Divergent" trilogy -- opens in theaters this March. Watch the trailer and see a newly-released poster for the film below:

Lionsgate kicked off Tuesday with a new full-length trailer for The Divergent Series: Insurgent, previewing more of the action with Shailene Woodley, Kate Winslet, Theo James, Ansel Elgort and Miles Teller, plus Octavia Spencer.

Avid fans of the Divergent trilogy were overjoyed Friday with the release of the new Insurgent trailer, which was chock-full of action. However, that joy quickly turned to confusion for those familiar with the books on which the movies are based.

In addition to all that Shailene Woodley/Theo James action (both the heroic and romantic kinds) the trailer also gives you the first look a tNaomi Watts as Evelyn -- Tobias' mother and leader of the factionless -- and she's almost unrecognizable with that dye job.

You've motivated yourself to get #UpNOut all winter, but every so often there's the temptation to hibernate inside, someplace warm... a theater maybe? The final Insurgent trailer just arrived and brings a strong argument for a trip to the movies and motivation to push through the coldest days. Because, wouldn't it be nice to feel as badass as Shailene Woodley by the film's March 20th premiere?

We're nearly out of breath just watching Tris sprint through the trailer. She also leaps off building and swings through the air, because you've got to be pretty tough if you're going to change the world.

The final trailer for The Divergent Series: Insurgent has been released, revealing a few new exciting and shocking elements. In the action-packed clip, Shailene Woodley reprises her role as the heroine Beatrice (Tris) Prior. However, this time she chops off her enviable locks in order to lead a life as a fugitive with her fellow Divergent crew.

The trailer begins by showing Tris on the run as she tries to avoid being captured by Kate Winslet's character, the Erudite leader Jeanine. Throughout the video, Woodley can be seen jumping through glass, gun-slinging at her enemies and hanging on for dear life.

In an interview with the Today show, Woodley revealed, "It is a young adult novel, but the movies reach an audience that's far beyond just the young adult demographic. I think that there's an essence of something that's more mature, which I think compliments the themes in the books really well."

The film is the second movie adaptation of Author Veronica Roth's Divergent series and follows Tris Prior's (Woodley) fight against her inner demons as she readies for battle against those who threaten her kind. Advertisement

The new and final trailer for the film sees Woodley and Theo James' characters (Four and Tris) hide in a new faction as they come up with a plan to face the Divergent-hating Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet). It also features Tris' bother Caleb Prior (Ansel Elgort) pledging allegiance to the cause that is trying to destroy her.

There has been no shortage of new footage from The Divergent Series: Insurgent lately, following the Super Bowl trailer released last week and the new TV spot that debuted just yesterday. Summit Entertainment is continuing this trend today by releasing another new trailer, that gives us our first look at Octavia Spencer's Johanna, while showing Tris (Shailene Woodley) chopping off all of her hair and joining Four (Theo James) to fight back against the Erudite leaders, who claim that Tris and her fellow Divergents are "the true enemy."

The Divergent Series: Insurgent raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris and Four are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Kate Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris's family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them. Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.

Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Jai Courtney, Zo&#235 Kravitz, Ray Stevenson, Suki Waterhouse, Jonny Weston, Naomi Watts, Rosa Salazar and Keiynan Lonsdale round out the supporting cast for director Robert Schwentke's adaptation of Veronica Roth's second novel in her Divergent trilogy. This new trailer also reveals that advanced tickets will go on sale February 25, before this highly-anticipated young adult thriller hits theaters March 20.
