Good day everyone
Attached is an invitation to join an international Sea Scout Zoom meeting on Sunday evening 25th April at 20:00 local time.
It would be great if we could participate and chat to other Sea Scouters from Europe and USA. Please distribute this invitation to as many sea scouts as possible. There is no guarantee that we can all get logged in as the system only caters for 100 participants
Please let me know if you intend trying to
join... just so that I have an idea of numbers.

Good morning, Alan:
My apologies for the delayed response. The following is the invitation that has gone out to others:
I bring you greetings from the Sea Scouts of the Boy Scouts of America. I hope and trust that everyone is doing well and staying safe. I hope that we will be returning to our “normal” Sea Scouting program soon. In the meantime I appreciate everyone’s efforts to keep our Scouts safe, engaged, and connected.

This Zoom connection can handle up to 100, so if you are aware of anyone with an active interest in international Sea Scouting, please feel free to pass this along. If you do, please let me know so that we can add them to the attendee list.
The discussion thus far makes it clear that our Sea Scouting friends would like an opportunity to see and hear one another to say “hello” and be reassured that they are OK. There has also been a suggestion that we have a “program” of some sort. If we have a meeting, it should probably be kept short so that we spend most of our time socializing. Are there other thoughts? Whatever we do, I hope we can make this fun.
Suggestion: Are there scheduled international Sea Scout events in 2021 and 2022?
I just checked on the Zoom site and there are 4 telephone numbers for South Africa. I’ve copied one of them in on the list above. The meeting will take place on Sunday, 25 April 2021 at 2000 (UTC +2). Some countries (most notably Australia) will have very unfavorable times for this meeting, but no time of day will work well for everyone. Everything else being equal, I would be out sailing at my scheduled time (1400 EDT), but at least I’m not getting up in the middle of the night.
If you have any information about an international Sea Scout event, or anything else of interest that you would like to share with the group, please let me know ahead of time. We’re asking that presentations be limited to 2-3 minutes in the hopes that the majority of the time can be reserved for socializing. Please feel free to share this information with others whom you feel would benefit from participating.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to your participation on the 25th.
Best wishes,
Bruce

Subject: Sea Scout Zoom meeting
Good day Bruce
Ron Bird forwarded me the notice regarding the Zoom Meeting on 24th April. Due to some email communication difficulties getting permission from our International Desk, ( now resolved) I would appreciate it if you could send me the meeting link information for distribution to our Sea Scout community.
I would also appreciate an explanation of how the timing issues are to be overcome as this is a "round the world" meeting from what I understand. South Africa is in the old GMT+2 time zone.
