Thanks for the heads up Cobra.
Regarding the WAC meeting, I’m going to cancel it as there is very little to discuss.
Updates since the last meeting:
The only event has been the River Race (seems like that was a year ago) which was quite well attended and congratulations to 1st Benoni for taking the trophy
No training has been held since the last meeting. Dawn is leading a team in building an online course for the Oars and Sail Theory and we will also be building an online Water Awareness course. The WA course planned for 6 June will probably not run as scheduled and alternative arrangements will be made when the online course material is completed.
I am also taking the decision to postpone gig adventure. Apart from the ban on inter provincial travel, SAMSA is not permitting any form of recreational watersports for the foreseeable future and there is no way we can so social distancing or ensure hygiene on a gig. We can reevaluate the situation once scouting has restarted and perhaps set a new date.
If anyone out there has a clever idea for an online intertroop competition (like a massive game of battleships) please get in touch with me
