* You can only sync your device with one iTunes library at a time. If you see a message that your device is synced with another iTunes library, your device was previously connected to another computer. If you click "Erase and Sync" in that message, all content of the selected type on your device will be erased and replaced with content from this computer.

Hold down the option key while starting iTunes. When prompted to select a library select the iTunes Library.itl file on the NAS. If it isn't there then you did not keep the entire library on the NAS and left critical parts of your library behind on the old computer. The only recourse is to recover those files from that computer or a backup. It is usually better to use a portable library though with a NAS you can run into all kinds of trouble with any iTunes library. In this case I suspect I know what is wrong but there are many NAS posts here where we have no idea why a library suddenly got messed up. iTunes and NAS do not play well together.

I consider your point about problems with a NAS hosted iTunes library. I need a library stored on only one drive so that all the family can share it (and sync their iPhones with their own playlists). Otherwise, how could we do that (share the same library and add the new music in the shared library) ?

If you've already signed into the OneDrive app, select Me > Settings > Camera Upload and turn on Camera Upload. Now, every photo you take with your iPhone will be saved to OneDrive. If you want videos to be saved to OneDrive, make sure Include Videos is turned on.

If you need to edit Office documents on your iPhone, stay productive with Office apps. You'll be able to create, edit, and share documents directly from your iPhone and continue working on your Surface.

However, iTunes MRSS feeds have a variety of potential elements. In the sample TWIT feed, the content elements in the feed are matched through an XPath query with the query and matchList parameters in the categories recipe contents recipe. You might need to adjust some of this query syntax if your MRSS feed differs from the sample TwitTV MRSS feed. More details are provided in the steps that follow.

To configure Fire App Builder with your own MRSS feed, essentially you just swap it in place of the TWIT feed and make sure the same elements match in your recipes. You can also rename some files so they reflect your own feed rather than saying "Twit."

Open the Navigator_acmemedia.json file (or whatever you named it in the previous step). The default globalRecipes code has a special hard-coded category with content processed by a different recipe. This section is highlighted in red below. Remove this section.

If successful, your app should look similar to the sample TWIT Ham Nation app but with your own feed's content. The feed items are grouped into different categories based on the category element in your feed. If the same item has multiple categories, that item will appear in each category group.

Most applications provide you with an option of where you want to install software. They may call it "Destination Folder." The default locations, depending on if the application is 32-bit or 64-bit are:

iTunes is loved by many and is great for managing your music library. You can even sync your iPhone, iPod and iPad with your iTunes library so that you can access all your music on any device. Any, except Androids... If you have an Android phone, you'll know that you can't sync your iTunes library with it - iTunes doesn't allow it.

Additionally, Google has continued to refine and promote its Google TV platform, with big-name television vendors Sony and LG both announcing in recent months that they would be developing solutions for Google TV. At the Consumer Electronics Show this year, Sony showed off its Google TV-based Network Media Play set-top box while LG showed off its own HDTV with Google TV fully integrated.

Anyway, my question is simple and I admit to not really snooping around in
iTunes to find the answer yet. We already have a mess of music in the iTunes
music folder and I'd guess that it would easily fill up the new iPod mini
with alot of music that the younger boy doesn't like or want. Is there a
simple way to create a playlist or file/folder for each of them that would
then fill or refresh via an "update" only what they each would want when
they recharge or update their respective iPod devices?Much thanks for any help!

I have the same issue. iTunes on Windows 7, installed with default configuration months ago. After that I have upgraded it several times successfully, again with default settings. Now the latest iTunes upgrade offered by Apple Software Updater suddenly fails with "QuickTime required" error. iTunes and QuickTime Player fully working, only upgrading to latest version fails.

'In a world where a majority of UK homes have high speed broadband access, consumers will welcome a safe, state-of-the-art service and legal alternative to those services which exploit musicians without compensation,' Universal's Lucian Grainge said.

But it has been constrained by the dominance of Apple's iTunes service which has more than 70 per cent of the digital music market, which some analysts suggest has prevented music companies from negotiating better deals.

The new service will offer a range of pricing levels, with higher prices allowing for a greater number of downloads.

Grainge said he was extremely open minded when asked whether he would look to pursue similar deals with other partners in different countries.

The service will launch later this year and will initially be PC-based. Details of pricing, the name of the service and a launch date will be released later.

(AP) -- Apple Inc.'s new music-discovery feature, Ping, is a potentially useful addition to iTunes. With it, you can see what songs your friends are buying and recommend some of your favorites to them. googletag.cmd.push(function() googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1449240174198-2'); ); It's great that Apple is finally incorporating elements of Lala.com, which offered similar social-discovery tools until Apple bought the startup in December and shut it down a few months later. And if people use Ping to honestly discuss music, it could be valuable to me as a consumer and help music sales, too.Ping is a good start, but I hold out hope for some improvement. To use Ping, you must install the newly released iTunes 10. It works fine on my Windows XP laptop, but requires Mac users to have at least the Mac OS X 10.5 operating system, or Leopard, which came out in 2007. Upgrading the operating system will cost about $90. It's not likely worth the expense just for Ping, which itself is free, as is the iTunes software.Ping starts out by having you fill out a simple registration form. You can have Ping automatically display the music you like based on songs you've already purchased. Or you can choose what to like and display, which is what I did; I put up such artists as Lily Allen, Owl City, Cowboy Junkies and Jewel. After that, Ping recommended some artists and people that I might be interested in following, which would then allow me to see what they are buying, recommending and commenting on.I found Ping's suggestions simplistic at best, however. Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, U2, Taylor Swift and Dave Matthews Band came up, as if Ping merely picked the most popular artists, not ones related to music I liked. How about some obscure artists I wouldn't have found on my own?I tried following a few artists that I liked, but not all were on the service yet. It will probably take a while for Ping to get populated with artists to the same degree as sites such as MySpace.Ping got a little more interesting when I looked at the recommendations beyond the artists. Ping suggested I follow Rick Rubin, the co-president of Columbia Records; Jason Bentley, the music director at one of Los Angeles' NPR stations, KCRW; and Alexandra Patsavas, a music supervisor who picks songs for TV shows and films. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle []).push(); All three people are in the Los Angeles area, and I initially thought they came to me because of the location I specified in my profile. But colleagues in New York and Seattle got the same three recommendations. In any case, they are generally respected pickers of music, and they already had thousands of followers by the time I followed them.Refreshingly, Rubin didn't just pick artists signed by Columbia Records, although some of his picks were, including country singer David Allan Coe.The "Recent Activity" section of Ping shows what people and artists that you follow are buying, liking and commenting on. It looks a lot like Facebook, so it seems familiar and is easy to use. When someone you follow recommends a song, you can listen to a snippet without going to another page, much like Facebook's iLike application, which is nice. You can also buy the song right there. But the free preview is just a 30-second clip, not the full-length version available on MySpace and sometimes on Facebook, which is not nice - 30 seconds is too short for me to make a buying decision. I still have to go elsewhere to catch full song streams. When I first checked out Ping, the comments section below the picks was a silly free-for-all. A lot of the comments I read were woefully irrelevant and sometimes offensive. Thankfully, the default setting is to hide all but the most recent comment, and it appears Apple has installed some filters to remove much of the junk as well. You can see upcoming concert listings if you click through to an artist's profile page, where you can also see who else is following the artist. But the concert listings don't seem to take into account my location, and clicking to search for tickets takes me to LiveNation.com or Ticketmaster.com. I'm sure this generates more page views and, yes, advertising revenue for Live Nation Entertainment Inc., which now owns both sites. But it would be nice if the entire transaction were handled within iTunes, which already has my credit card stored. The Ping charts, which show top albums and songs bought by people I follow, could prove more relevant if I were to follow more actual friends or industry people I genuinely find interesting. After all, if I follow only well-known, mainstream artists, I'm bound to get recommendations for more mainstream music from well-known artists.Overall, Ping is one more tool to help sort through the noise, and it's a conveniently placed one, at the heart of the world's largest seller of music online. If future versions have full-length song plays and incorporate the ticketing transaction into iTunes, I'll be sure to sing its praises. 2010 The Associated Press.
