My corporate policy is to always have Symantic anti-virus running on my PC. I am blocked from turning it off. The CCS installtion check keeps me from installing CCS with the following message. Is there an installation command line option to turn off this check?

Anti-Virus Check -> We have detected you are running anti-virus software on this computer. To ensure no problems occur during the installation, it is highly recommended that real-time file scanning be turned off before proceeding with the installation.

So, this is a problem I have since the begining of my "visual studio career" that all my apps, after built, when sent to my friends, they get a warning saying it might be virus....I never sent a real virus, lol and my programs where never malicious intended, but ALWAYS gave that warning when someone was trying to open them. It's really a shame for me because I love doing programs and tools for other people, but I never distribuited them because I don't want to ruin my reputation sending programs that gives virus warnings...I've searched all the internet for a solution to this and never found...So I am really expecting that there might be someone that can finally help me with this problem...

I really need some help onto this because I really would love to see my programs being used by others. I heard someone say that it might be because my pc have virus and that my apps detect them somehow and gives the warning to others because the app was made in a pc with virus (something like that). To try to fix that, I made an app on my pc and passed the visual studio solution to my Laptop that was recently redefined, so the only things I have there are the Opera GX and Visual studio 2022. But still, after building the app, it have a virus warning when I tried to open on my pc...Could the solution already have been infected?

I have uploaded an app in the Play store and I have received several comments that it has a virus in it and it sometimes forces the mobile to reboot itself. The code in my app is so simple: only one activity that has several spots and either you can hear them or set them as a ringtone. Can you suggest me anything?

You can write a batch file which overwrites the %TEMP% and %TMP% variables and then launches visual studio. When the batch file overwrites an enviorment variables it is applicable only for that session, it does not modify the %TEMP% for applications launched from other batch files / system directly.

At my company, we go into the Services screen and set the on-access scanner to "disabled", which prevents it from starting at system boot (except when they push out an update, then you have to do it again). It's worth noting that you can temporarily disable it by clicking "stop", but it will periodically restart itself. Setting it to "disabled" prevents it from restarting. Improves performance 10X. To mitigate the risks of viruses, we are very vigilant about doing a full system scan periodically.

I ran a typical full Malwarebytes scan and it found that there's a "virus" within the listed .exes. I Googled this issue to see if anyone else had this issue and apparently these logs correlate with someone else who claims they might have a Netsha virus. I ran across these as well as the folder they are under with Kaspersky, Microsoft Defender, and VirusTotal and they all came across clean except for Malwarebytes. I posses the demo version of FL directly downloaded from their website.

1. Link your virus software to channel 1
2. in the virus software, make sure that in the "patch utility" tab you have selected "3 outs/no input"
3. In the virus software, in the "common" tab, on the first out of 16 channels, select under main out USB 1 L+R
4. In the virus software, in the "common" tab, on the second out of 16 channels, select under main out USB 2 L+R
5. In the virus software, in the "common" tab, on the third out of 16 channels, select under main out USB 3 L+R
Naturally you may use the outs as many times as you like on any of the 16 channels.
6. In your FL wrapper settings, assign the outs from steps 3-5 to mixer channels. Those are the USB outs. I attach a picture for reference. In my case, usb 1 is linked to channel 1, usb 2 to ch2 and usb3 to ch3. You may also try the automap feature.

There appears to be a virus attached somehow to the studio One 3 64 bit installer and it wont let me download it. The virus is a ObfusRansom.F_78 trojan and when I click the download button it redirects me to a site with the header "SonicWall" next to the PreSonus logo, and then informs me that the download is blocked due to the virus. Please Help!! Has anyone had the same experience? Any suggestions?

I was just now following a tutorial and asked to run my code.
The execution failed because it did not have access to the file, and my virus scanner then reported the file had been quarantined as it detected Gen:Variant.Cerbu.123013
Anyone else experiencing this behavior?

Nowadays antivirus vendors (not only the one you use) seem to favor bundling their immature machine learning based detection algorithms, which introduces tons of false positives (not only your case). Like it or not, the feasible solution is not Microsoft fixes everything, but you move away from an irresponsible antivirus vendor that creates the noise. There are millions of developers working on Visual Studio so if the things are as "hazardous" as you assumed, you won't be the first to report it.

Sorry for reporting, Won't happen again. I was not trying to offend anyone.
Then you certainly call very respected antivirus vendors irresponsible too as I see this in many places.
Lastly, I did not assume it was hazardous but the scanner was the one excluding it. As stated above, I did not install the latest update of ML.NET Model Builder 2022, and the problem was gone. Use the info or not but I guess Microsoft is always correct

"why Microsoft engineers will not take the finding and use the feedback" sounds rather strange to me. Your feedback though valuable in some degree only indicates a false positive of a virus scanner that isn't even famous world wide, so why should it be treated as kind of top priority?

What makes you feel that Microsoft doesn't have a strict policy internally to scan their binaries against a variety of famous and main stream antivirus software before shipping to customers (and many of such are big enterprises and governments which mandate Microsoft to meet the highest standards)?

Any anti-virus software that is reputable has one or more exclusion list which in your case (no knowledge of Chili Security) should be able to excluded the folder for your executable under the debug folder which includes the executables and also should be able to grant access to the any other resource via Chili Security or Active Directory. And if by chance running AD under an organization you may need to work with their engineers.

I am fully aware of this but as I commented above, the solution was not to install the update and it is no longer detected as a virus.
Disregarding by use of exclusion is for me always the last resort. Also that there are many users, do not exclude there may be mistakes in the software, sorry.

The installers on this page are provided directly from Image-Line from a secured server and link. They are thoroughly tested before being published online. Our installers do not include viruses.

You can upload the file or enter the download URL at Virus Total. They will automatically scan the file with a wide variety of different anti-virus programs and tell you what each says about the file.

However, when I copy all the graphics files and the executable to a standalone computer (running antivirus software) and then run my sample application, the antivirus software detects my application as a virus and will go so far as to delete it from my computer.

Is this really the best course of action? Does anyone know how my application got into the database used by the antivirus vendor? When I contacted the vendor the analyst whom I spoke with suggested to turn the antivirus software off.

The short answer is that the issue I had originally reported with my game being detected as a virus is resolved. I obtained a code signing certificate, from a trusted root certificate authority. Not a PFX certificate, like I had originally thought was necessary.I am afraid I will not be going into too many specific details regarding my individual case. The reason for not being forthcoming is due to not having been granted permission to discuss the process by the vendors. And obtaining a code signing certificate may be different for individual cases and vendors. But I can say that the process took a few months. And not due to anyone or any organization not doing their part. The process just takes a few months. The most important part of the process is to be properly scrutinized to insure you are doing legitimate software development work. The basic steps I performed are as follows:

This is coming from Windows Defender SmartScreen. Basically the installer hasn't been downloaded many times so Microsoft is treating it with suspicion. Once it has been downloaded and installed a number of times the warning goes away. I guess you were one of the first to install this new version. I have installed many versions of e2studio, SSP etc and not seen it although I know some colleagues have.

There are many people across our organization having the same issue. It does relate to the temporary file being locked by our enterprise anti-virus application when RStudio tries to move the package into the user's package directory. Changing the wait Sys.sleep time allows the anti-virus to do its scan and release the file for moving. This solution has worked for everyone who experiences this issue. How can we log this for developers to fix? I certainly do not expect to make RStudio slower by globally upping the Sys.sleep time in the application but the current work-around only works for the current session a user is in. Every time the RStudio app is started or a new session is spun up, the user has to employ this work-around. I would hope there would be a way we can permanently make this update to the Sys.sleep time through modifying a configuration file rather then taking this manual step every time.
