Download destination for large file transfer: I have large files I need to download from wetransfer and no storage space. Is there a way I can designate the download to go to an external hard drive? Thank you."

Can I Edit from a DVD? Most people think that since a DVD is digital, they will be able to edit their footage directly off the DVD from within a video editing application like iMovie or Adobe Premiere. While this may be possible with certain DVD ripping utilities, we strongly advise against it. The reason is that video on DVD is compressed to begin with; therefore, if you edit already compressed footage and then author a new DVD from the already compressed footage you will end up with a highly re-compressed image that will be noticeably different than your original video tape.

The end result will be a pixelated de-saturated soft image. Moreover, DVDs are closed discs that contain .vob files inside a video TS folder. They are not a single file that you can work with. If you simply drag the files off the disc (like most other companies recommend), you will have audio gaps where the clips line up and the audio might even become out of sync the further you get down the timeline within your video editor.

Thus, we recommend that you have us create uncompressed digital computer files such as quick times and AVI files. By using quicktimes and AVI files, you could edit and re-export the footage to as many AVI or quicktime files as you want without any loss of quality. Quicktimes and AVI files are not only higher in quality; they are the most compatible file type to work with in your editing application. Meaning, you will be able to work with the video in real-time without having to transcode the video beforehand.

Can I watch these files on my TV? While it may be possible to watch them by hooking up your computer to the TV, these files are not really meantfor viewing on a TV as they are relatively uncompressed and meant for Editing on a computer. However, you can convert these files to mp4 / h264 files and view them on a Smart TV by accessing them through from a USB hard drive or bluray player. Furthermore, you can work down to a DVD from these high quality files.

Do you supply the Hard Drive or me? We can use your external hard drive as long as there is enough room and it an external USB hard drive formatted NTFS (Windows)or HFS+ (MAC). We cannot put these large files on a drive that is formatted FAT32. Also, we can sell you an external hard drive. We typically stock a variety of Flash drives and external Hard Drives.

How much space do I need on my flash drive or external hard drive for my videos? For AVI or Quicktime files, 1 hour will be about 12 GB and 2 hours will be 24 GB. Please be conscious of the amount of space you have on your hard drive.

Excellent work done in a timely fashion. Considering the age of my 16mm reels, the color quality is amazing. Wow, I could even see their wrinkles!! Everyone in these films has passed on, but the memories of their existence can now be passed on for generations.

Box currently does not have a direct integration with other cloud services that would allow users to move files/folders directly between different cloud accounts. You will need to download these files to your hard drive and upload them to your other cloud account from your computer.

If this is something you would like to be able to do, I would highly recommend submitting this feature request at pulse.box.com! Our product managers review these requests and take them into consideration for future product development.

How much is there are you able to print them as a reminder?

It depends if your work systems can detect files being transferred out, in which case they would know you have sent them to yourself via wetransfer.

Is there a way of copy pasting into an email or a different doc type. Screen shoting by taking a photo on your phone. Print out the doc and take home a hard copy?

Tbh op I have done similar things. Never for nefarious purposes but for learning or to have as resource like you say.

One of the best bits of advice I was given was to transfer useful things before leaving a job, especially as I became self employed for a while afterwards (not in competition with my previous employment).

But I knew no-one would care or follow up on it and it was pre GDPR.

What's the actual likelihood of being caught? If that's a major concern, photographing screens with your phone is probably safest.

I'd zip them up using 7 Zip, password protecting the file and using the option to hide the file names. Then create a google account and upload it to your drive. As long as you've got a complicated password they won't be able to see what the original files were, not even the names.

Depends on the company and if you like going to jail. If its a small company, its doubtful they'll notice. If its a big company, they may notice, and you'll probably be in a lot of trouble. There's a reason you aren't meant to email anything to your private email addresses or use things like wetransfer.

The last time I worked for someone else they had a massive IT problem, and then discovered that their back-up system didn't work. The whole company had to re-do two weeks of work.

Out of the goodness of my heart I took it upon myself to start a new, secret back-up system - external hard drive with the whole company's data on it. I stored it at home in case of fire. I forgot to give it to them when I left.

Depending on the size of the hard drive even the most popular solutions like Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive will do the job. All you have to do is install the corresponding client software on the computer that has a hard drive connected and on the other computers that require access to this hard drive. That will be a both-way synchronization obviously.

This setup will work for free if the data in question is around 15-50GB. Otherwise, it will be quite pricey thus I would recommend you look at some other less expensive alternatives Is a single cloud enough to secure your backups? 5 cool cross-cloud solutions you should consider - VMWARE BLOG .

I'm having issues importing and dealing with .mogrt files in this project. These .mogrt files I've created for this project have been larger than anything I've made before because they include a few layers of rendered footage to speed up the responsiveness. Ranging from 900MB to 1900MB.

At first we had issues importing it to another computer running the latest updates for mac, and I used the other mogrt's on my own computer. When placed in the timeline, they were editable on the same macs that couldn't import them earlier.

My main issue now is that the 1900MB large mogrt shows up as media offline on my own computer after I make it and import it to premiere. It doesn't matter if its exported to the hard drive and imported manually, or exported straight to local templates folder, it just stays offline.

Including video media in a mogrt seems problematic. Sometimes works, sometimes ... not so much. I'm not sure I totally understand this, and a couple of the engineers have given me lengthy explanations about how this should work and why it doesn't when it doesn't.

Footage within your Mogrt should definitely work. We've had an elusive bug that makes the media within the Mogrt go offline (not the Mogrt itself) that I haven't been able to nail down a consistent reason. Would you mind sharing your Mogrt with me @helloc38986482? maybe with a WeTransfer link or something since it sounds like its a big file.

Thanks,

I created a . MOGRT wich contains footage in ProRes 4444. On a MAC it works just fine when we import it in Premiere Pro. But on a PC with Windows 10 the .MOGRT shows "Media Offline" whin it's imported in Premiere Pro.

I havent run into this issue too much, but it does occasionally come up for me. The thing I've found that most often causes this for me is exceptionally high resolution assets / compositions. Recently, I ran into the "Media Offline" issue after increasing the resolution of asset placeholders in my composition by 5x (5x1080). Once I brought that multiplier down to 3x, my mogrt regained it's ability to show correctly once placed onto my timeline.

We also did just fix a bug where Mogrts that were over 2gb in size were failing to open on Windows. Would you mind trying the latest Beta build 22.1 x 34 or after and seeing if your issue is resolved?

FileCloud Enterprise Online is an enterprise file share and sync (EFSS) solution that is used by many companies in China. FileCloud is a secure platform that enables you to share large files across China without a VPN. With FileCloud, files and libraries sync easily and speedily in any country, including China.

FileCloud can be accessed without a VPN easily when hosted outside China. VPN restrictions are very complex in China. For businesses sharing files between China and rest of the world, FileCloud is a perfect enterprise solution for secure team collaboration.

Organizations collaborating with teams in China depend on external file sharing solutions to share documents with clients, vendors, and customers. With FileCloud, you can easily organize, manage, and protect sensitive documents for sharing with both internal and external users. For example, you can share business files publicly with or without a password. Without password security, anyone with the right link can access the files. Password-protected sharing requires a password for access.

You can right-click a folder and choose from the options to share it directly. Alternatively, you can open it with FileCloud and invite your team to view, edit, upload, or share business files. This process turns files and folders into shared workspaces.
