We almost lost Bandit about one year before his recent passing. After becoming extremely lethargic and unable to stand, our vet told us that a tumor in his stomach had ruptured and gave him only a few days to live. Becki and I called our children, Makenzi and Carson, home to say goodbye. Wanting to spoil him in every way possible - with love and attention and food - we started feeding him Costco broasted chicken for his meals. Slowly, he started to make a recovery. So, we continued to love on him hard. You know, the kind of intense love that sadly often only comes after the introduction of perspective from the threat of loss. And Bandit was a dog that LOVED to be loved.
Doing the simple math, Bandits new dietary requirements cost us roughly $1,700 over the last year of his life. Expensive, for sure. But we would happily have paid twice that now if it would have given us another year.
What Is Love? is the second studio album by British electronic music group Clean Bandit. It was released on 30 November 2018 by Atlantic Records.[3] It includes the singles "Tears" (featuring Louisa Johnson), "Rockabye" (featuring Sean Paul and Anne-Marie), "Symphony" (featuring Zara Larsson), "I Miss You" (featuring Julia Michaels), "Solo" (featuring Demi Lovato), "Baby" (featuring Marina and Luis Fonsi) and "Mama" (featuring Ellie Goulding).[3] In addition, the album also features collaborations with Rita Ora, Charli XCX, Bhad Bhabie and Tove Styrke.[4] It is the band's first album as a trio, following the departure of multi-instrumentalist Neil Amin-Smith in 2016.
Jack later told The Guardian that a collaboration with Elton John did not make the album because the band "realised there was a sound developing in a certain part of the Venn diagram of the album and we wanted to push that. It was kind of this tropical, plastic-y, mournful sound, whereas his songs were more from the Rather Be world."[6] A track was also recorded featuring Chatto's "childhood idol" Gwen Stefani but it "fell through", which Chatto called "devastating".[6]
In September 2018, the group revealed through their social media accounts that they had been working with Rita Ora, and that recording for the album was finished.[7] Several days later, they announced the title, track listing and artwork, as well as a statement on the themes: "The album looks at many different kinds and stages of love. We've been making it over three years, during which time we've all experienced love in our lives in different ways [...] brotherly love; family love; romantic love; crazy all-consuming love; the pain of love turning into something different or dishonest; and, of course, in Rockabye, unconditional motherly love."[1]
Since release, What Is Love? has received generally positive reviews from music critics. According to review aggregation site Metacritic, the album has received an average score of 66/100 based on four reviews.[8] Neil Z. Yeung reviewing for AllMusic gave the album 4 out of 5 stars, saying it was "worth the long wait" and that it took "the promise of Rather Be and [topped] it many times over."[9]
Love wears many a mask, a little bit like our rosy-cheeked raccoon brooch, hand-assembled from tantalising textured resin. With hand-finished details, he's here to help you unlock the secret to happiness.
Each piece is made from laser-cut and layered resin, hand assembled, hand painted and released in limited quantities. As all of our designs are lovingly glued, assembled and painted by hand there can be fingerprint marks and very slight variations and blemishes from piece to piece. Due to the hand-mixed nature of the resins in our designs, it is also common and normal to find tiny flecks or bubbles in the resin layers. All in all, this just makes each piece as special and unique as you are.

My first Valentines Day here in Portland was February 14, 1988. I was delightfully reminded of this city's whimsical spirit when I noticed an 8x10 sheet of paper with a big red heart. It was attached to a storefront window on Congress by a couple pieces of masking tape.
As I continued down toward Monument Square, I saw another big red heart, and then another one, and another one. Suddenly everywhere I looked, these simply made expressions of love would pop up. Still today the big mystery remains.
How do these red hearts suddenly appear all over the city without the person or people being seen putting them up? It's gotta be a team of of lovemongers to pull off a feat this big, right? Huge hearts have even appeared out in Casco Bay and I saw one this morning on the Portland Public Library.
How? Who? We still don't know know for sure. There are a few folks out there who know the Valentines Bandit's identity but their lips are sealed (with a kiss). It's definitely the best kept secret around.
Yeah sure, there's a part of me that would like to see the hero or heroes who bring this gift to Portland every year. But I don't really need to know. After all it's too much fun to believe in the magic that is the Portland Valentines Bandit, reminding us that love is all that matters.

So today I went out looking for a smaller combo amp as kind of a grab and go amp. I love my Vintage Club 50 212 but it is really heavy. I wanted something for those little jam sessions. I'm not sure I accomplished that task. The Bandit is still a little on the big and heavy side but weighs in at 30lbs less than the VC.
I went to check out a Kustom HV65. I liked the Kustom but saw a old Bandit sitting there and decided to try it out. The clean channel sounded great and the spring reverb was really nice. I flipped over to the second channel and was able to quickly dial in a tone I liked. I hit a couple chords and riffs and it kind of made me giggle a little it sounded so good. I played it in the store for quite a while and decided I had to have it. I had a little store credit from a trade I did a few weeks ago so I was able to pick up the Bandit for $100 and change.
The old green ones (early 90's?) sounded AMAZING. One of the best heavy metal tones I've ever heard (reproduced in the Peavey Butcher, I believe) and one of the best SS bluesy/low gain sounds as well! My best buddy had one in high school. It made the rounds for sure - every time one of my friends or I had a gig, we'd go borrow my buddies Bandit 112. And I had a marshall JCM 800 half stack at the time, LOL!
The newer ones I've tried out with the red trim on the front sounded decent, but that awesome beefy metal tone I used to love is not there, not the same. It's still a nice amp, it's just not the SAME amp to me.
Like Arr0wHead said some great metal tones. I also had a JCM800 back in the day and even though I use a little less gain than I used to I still love that sound. I was able to dial in that tone I like and even dial in a tone kind of like my VC50. I could easily use the Bandit as backup to the VC.
