We have finalized arrangements on our next GTUG event. The event will be held at the CIED in the Imagination Room on February 6th. This event will be different than previous events in that there will not be a structured talk given. Instead, Mike Conners will guide us through a hands-on workshop using the ADK. Since this is hands-on, there are a few prerequisites to consider:
Laptop
Tablet or Phone that supports accessory mode (Most Honeycomb tablets, some 2.3.4 phones)
Eclipse http://eclipse.org/ - Java version
Android SDK (API level 10 and above) http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html -- Install the SDK plugin for Eclipse
Arduino 1.0 - http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software
The Arduino bundle - http://labs.arduino.cc/uploads/ADK/GettingStarted/arduino_bundle_ADK.zip
An Arduino ADK board
Optional - Processing - http://processing.org/
We will also look at a standard Arduino Duemillanove board with the USB host shield.
If you have all of the above prerequisites, great, bring them. If you don't, we should have several stations set up for people to share.
Although this will be an introductory lab, the content will cover advanced technology.
If you can't meet all the prerequisites, but have an Arduino board and need help getting familiarized with it, bring it and you can get some guidance.
We'll set up an Event Brite event to register so we can get an idea of how many people are planning on attending, but I wanted to get this information out as soon as possible since we are only a week away. Sorry for the short notice!
