i've been playing with (and loving) the gather web appliance and i'd
like to donate some cycles to the project but there doesn't seem to be
a lot of documentation available (besides the blog and the wiki)
online.

i know there is a push to wrap up some code, but having some more
documentation about how the whole thing fits together would encourage
development. is there a eta for this? if we are short on resources, is
there something the community can do to make it happen sooner?

We are this week engaged in some training with the initial gather
deployment team in Uganda. More documentation will be coming out as a
result of that activity.

While the initial field-test is going on we will be supporting that
and taking the time to consider next steps for gather development.
Personally I have a thorough refactoring in mind to bring the code
back around to a better generic base. The next few weeks are probably
a good time to review the disparity between idealistic design and
pragmatic implementation.

Will there be opportunity to discuss this stuff and see demos at the
Durban meeting?

Hi All,

Yes, there will be opportunities. Holly and I will be there and I will
attempt to set up a dedicated time with Andy for developers that are
interested and want to join the development team or ask general questions.

Thanks,
Jonathan
